The Bachelor Australia – A Girl Quits And Two More Don’t Get A Rose

If you are looking for tea lights don’t expect to find any in stores in Sydney as it looks like The Bachelor production team has brought the all. Again the set designers had decided to go over the top with anything tacky.

The competition intensified tonight with the first one on one date and it was Sarah who nabbed it. Please note Tim probably has very little say in who he gets to date at this stage.  Sarah who is a a 22 year old florist from the Gold Coast was flown to Byron Bay on a private plane (a very small one) to ride a horse on an overcast beach. Interesting she was wondering what the date would be but she managed to wear appropriate clothing of long pants and boots without heels and there was even a bikini top under the t-shirt.

The held hands whilst the horses walked slowly up the beach and at one point it looked like Sarah’s saddle was going to slide sideways.

Whilst this date was going on the other girls got to lie beside the pool gossiping. I know where I would rather be. The more interesting scenes on the episode were when the girls were chatting. At this point we have gotten to see the “real” Tim as he is too busy giving out rehearsed lines and looking debonair. Don’t expect him to say to camera “God she was a scrag” or “That date was really dull”.

The next was the group date with ten of the girls picked to do a photo shoot for TV Week. Judy was miffed that considering she had been given the first rose she had not been selected to go on either and she let him know it.

Bianca was having a diva moment on the photo shoot not liking her fifties hair or dress and she was sulking about it and muttered to Tim “Only for you”. Tim was in his element with the camera going and there was some faux kissing going on.

Ali and Emma were dressed up as 1800’s girls and Emma was having a dig at Ali about her forward ways with Tim at the cocktail party asking whether she was going to go for the kiss again.

Ali who really is an actress, and possibly also a real estate agent was a bit put out by the snark. Even though there is that semi-psycho aspect about her personality she is seems quite sweet.  Emma pushed herself to the front of the photo shoot but then was told to move aside.

After the shoot Emma decided she did not want to be on the show anymore probably because she realised it was not going to get the fame she was hungering for and she had a lot of competition for camera time. Also she intimated to Tim that there were girls who were not just there for the lark but were serious about trying to hook him. Obviously she just wasn’t that into him.

Tim was non-plussed about her quitting probably because he did not really know her and it meant he did now he only had to decide which two girls he was not going to give roses to.

In the end Elizabeth the Sudanese girl was not given one as when she was given the opportunity to talk to him in the photo shoot nothing to say. Clearly there was not chemistry there and Amy was the other girl eliminated.

What’s with Danielle’s affected manner of speech. It is so high, nasally and over in love with the letter ‘s’??

She’s the brunette in the plunging white dress at the photo shoot that was aparantly shaking with fright because of the cameras.

Er, hello girlfriend? The Bachelor isn’t telegraphed by pidgeons. What about the cameras that are capturing every over pronounced word from you?

Sheesh.

Judy was a bit needy, no wonder she was given the last rose. Why has she turned out to be so needy, her preview shots at work and leisure time shows that she is quite a strong confident girl.

I guess Sarah had the right gear on as heaps of crew and stylists would go on these ‘dates’. It could have been a beach anywhere, was it really Bryron. Easy to throw a picture of the Lighthouse into the mix.

Bianca was painful and I was hoping she was the one who was going to self evict. She was so pissed on the first night, slurring her words just like that dragon from The Shire.

Ali is now having a hard time of it with the girls ganging up on her after her desperado act on Sunday night.

Loved loved the beaded sheer dress Danielle wore.

Trashy television still but loving the hilarity. One of the girls (Ali?) commented that he is always so well dressed. Hello?! His wardrobe is picked out for him. I’m pretty sure he doesn’t even tie his own tie or spit polish his shoes.

I also felt he revealed his true feelings with Judy when he told her that he “chose” certain girls for dates because he felt a connection, wanted to know them better for a long-term relationship (or words to that effect). And Judy understood exactly what he meant. Expect her to be cut by before the Top 10 unless she reveals her trump card that she is a doctor and he is punching way above his belt with her.

Best part of the episode. Despite all the editing and scripting to strip all sense of personality away from Tim, the camera still managed to catch him sneakily look down Danielle’s top as well as enjoy Emma’s thrusting bosoms in his face during the Victorian photoshoot. The camera never lies Tim!

I was kinda hoping all the girls would get to wear the white see-through thing. 😛

Front runners for me (if I was the bachelor, wasn’t married, and it wasn’t scripted) would be:
Ali – who seems to always look like an awkward doe in the headlights – but a very cute doe.
Anna – the lawyer who for some reason reminds me of Margaery Tyrell / Natalie Dormer.
Judy – doctor who dances and bakes cakes!? Delicious!
The tall fitness instructor lady whose name I forget.
Emma – Added mainly because of JStar’s description of her thrusting bosoms

Wifey seems to enjoy watching this show. :)

What nasty girls Emma and Danielle are.

Danielle deserves an award for faking the shy nervous girl on the photos shoot. BS!!!! Sucked in Tim. She’s a viper not a shy girl.

Bolders, I’ll have to listen out for Danielle’s manner of speech. It was Sarah’s sing-song-y voice that was irritating me the most last night.

Natalie is the one who looks a bit like Joan Collins.
Danielly might be the evil Courtney of this season’s Aussie Bach.

I can’t say I see Danielle getting the “villain” edit – IMO the preview showing her telling the others trying to butt in to the conversation to rack off is understandable. Bianca seems to be getting the villain edit at this stage.

I tuned in the last night and very quickly mentally tuned off while only half watching the show (recorded to miss the ads).

Boring, vacuous and more than bit sad. Certainly not entertaining, not enough real schlock.

A fairly hopeless shaggy-haired drip with a ‘winning grin’ and tri-pronged todger and a bunch of apparently young women looking hard, old and desperate before their time with make-up, apparel and attitudes more attune to a footy WAG get together or probably more accurately a ‘modelling agency’ specialising in ‘out calls’.

The bunny boiler who left probably needed to go so that she could visit the salon to get her fake tan re-basted on. Even Snooki would’ve been proud of that tandoori baste.

Won’t be watching again. The only positive I got from it was a reminder to work harder on my daughter’s self-esteem and her sense that she can do something meaningful, rather than demeaningful, with her life.

Outback Jack was a much better show and, as evidenced by the winning couple still being together with what appears a lovely brood of kids, was less fake and sad than this crap.

Thankyou CB on how hard and old most of those girls looked with the excessive work.
Also I take back what I said about my son looking like Tim because Tim is only passable looking and doesn’t have nice eyes.

11 Andrea { 09.10.13 at 2:55 pm }

That was very profound of you CB.
I get what you mean though, I am still trying to get into it, but it does seem a bit pathetic, its not done as well as the American version.
It was just all too cheesy and contrived, especially with the modelling shoot, too unreal.
None of these people should have any trouble getting dates, there are many more average looking people out there who struggle too to find their soulmates.
It might improve as it goes along, but I still have that photo image of him in my head.

I was surprised that girl said she hadn’t been on a date for 4 years. What???? MUst be because of all the texting and FB. Surely she could get a date.
Also Bianca could have been her own worst enemy carrying on about her dress and hair. I thought she looked quite attractive like that.

Love Emma’s dress, the blue and white one she was wearing when she left the show. Anyone know where it’s from?

Only caught a glimpse. He seems a bit dull.
Anyway, there is always the political connection:

Danielle, they have episode fashion galleries on the ten website so it might be in there.
