Survivor – Blood V Water – Interview With Candice

candice cody and john

Other highlights of the episode was the blindside of Laura Morrett who was sent to Redemption because she is good at puzzles and Aras and Tyson were hoping she would eliminated Culpepper. This would also mean Monica Culpepper would be more likely to stay solid to their alliance.

Laura also was concerned about how she came across with the way she was massaging Aras and put a message on her Facebook page

In this exclusive interview with Candice Cody we talk Brad Culpepper, why she the tribe voted her off immediately and the immunity idol.

Reality Ravings: You were only part of the Gulong tribe for a few minutes why do you think you were targeted to be the player to be sent to immediately to Redemption Island?

Candice Cody: We came late to Ponderosa [Ed note: Candice and John was late replacements for RC and her father] and were only there for 24 hours unlike the others that had been there for three days looking at each other wondering who to work with. I was an easy target, an easy name to write down. However it had been the usual format of three days on the tribe before tribal council I would not have been voted off.

RR: You memorably had a crack at Brad Culpepper at Redemption Island but you never played with him. Was your dislike for him based on what Marissa had told you, what you had seen at Redemption Island or when John was eliminated from the tribe?

CC: All of the above. Marissa told me about him and how he had been controlling the tribe. Also that she had wanted to start fires, collect water but was told by him to weave palm fronds. When Rachel came to Redemption Island she basically said the same thing. She also said Brad was in charge and he will be coming after John next. Which of course he did.  It clearly bothered me. Brad would sit up in the stand and point to John and say to me “I’ve got him. I am protecting him” and there was really no need for him to do that as I had very little power being on Redemption Island.  When John trusted him and he voted him out I lost my mind.  I knew at that point that there was only one chance of  a Cody coming back into the game. The gloves were off and  I wanted to do what I could do from Redemption Island to shake up the came and get Brad sent to Redemption Island and have a chance at having a crack at him myself.

RR: Did you know that when you gave John the immunity idol that you were putting a target on his back?

CC: Yes I knew that giving him the immunity idol was putting a target on his back. I considered giving it to somebody else, but you never know what is going on with the other tribe or the other person. Do they want to work with John or would they use it against him? You never know. I was burned in Heroes V Villains by JT giving the idol to someone who he thought was going to work with us and didn’t. Russell Hanz ended up playing the idol against us and taking out the Heroes tribe. I had already been burned by the idol being in the hands of someone that you did not know what they were going to do with it and I knew that giving the clue to the idol in such a public way was dangerous. But you were damned if you do or damned if you don’t. I was hoping that John would quickly find it, know it was a target and use it to make a big power play and be done with it. I did not know it would be so hard to find or so little time to find it. I’ll paying for that one for the rest of my life.

RR: Would you go on another reality TV show? And which one would it be?

CC: I never had the urge to another show other then Survivor, I know people have said you and John should go and do The Amazing Race and that would be fun.

Survivor Blood V Water on GO on Thursday night at 8.30pm.

I really didn’t think of the massage as intimate….it did seem more creepy mother than lover.
I thought it looked like a really lame way to suck up to Aras.

I am surprised they were 3 days on Ponderosa, am sure many an alliance was made there….will be interesting to see what comes of it all when they merge – and by the looks of it, tomorrow nights episode is gonna shake things up!
I cant remember when on previous series have players come back into the game from Redemption Island…can anyone shed any insights on it?
Wouldn’t it be great if they throw Brad and John back in????

Yeah it’s unfortunate she was at a disadvantage coming into the game last minute like that. And of course, they don’t usually eliminate someone before the game even starts.

Laura tweeted that she was going to be shown in a bad light.

Carole, you reminded me to comment (on the BB thread).

I was glad Kat was gone.
And what’s his name’s wife was very silly not talking to her alliance before saying anything. She thought she was being honourable and in one way she was but in another way she wasn’t.

The dialogue between Kat and her bf, re the switch was funny too. “What do you want to do?”
