The X Factor Grand Final – Dami Unbeatable?

To think that Dami Im was nearly not in this year’s X Factor. It was only when the over 25’s category was dropped to over 24’s and she made it in with Danni Minogue as her mentor.

Last night she again showed she was the strongest singer with three flawless performances including the winner’s song. Jai who at 14 years old was the only one to sing one of his own songs which shows he wants to tbe a song writer as well as singer.

Taylor Henderson’s night did not go quite as smoothly with a hiccup in the first song due to a technical fault and then he forgot the words of his last song. Danni and Ronan gave the game away that something had gone awry when Β they were shown in their heads looking at the desk.

It will be a shock result if Dami does not win, how this article here said they could all make $1 million next year as well as getting signed to a record company. In a way there are no losers.

When I watch Jai I have to keep reminding myself that it’s not the 70s and I’m not watching Young Talent Time. I’ll give him credit though for refraining from winking at the cameras.

I very rarely vote but I sent some Dami’s way last night despite the horrible see through dress. It will not be right if she does not win.

3 brain dead dave { 10.28.13 at 1:14 pm }

Jai sounded great….with the mute button on. It’ll be a crime if he wins.

4 Lizzie { 10.28.13 at 1:26 pm }

BDD, no doubt he will get the great-granny votes. Not the granny vote, as most grannies were weaned on The Stones, Cream, Bowie, Zeppelin etc.., not schmaltz.

5 Georgie { 10.28.13 at 1:50 pm }

Jai, Jai, Jai for third – oi, oi, oi!

6 Andrea { 10.28.13 at 2:43 pm }

It would be an injustice if Dami doesn’t win, she really is far superior to the other two.

7 Evan { 10.28.13 at 5:55 pm }

Jai could win if all the 12 year old girls and the grandmas voted for him.

8 Lizzie { 10.28.13 at 6:22 pm }

Oi Evan, see my comment @4 ! Only the Great-grannies :)

9 Andrea { 10.28.13 at 7:15 pm }

Lizzie @4, we did have Donny Osmond though, and David Cassidy!

10 Lizzie { 10.28.13 at 9:11 pm }

Andrea, sshh! And Georgie, phew – Jai third :)

11 Mittens { 10.28.13 at 9:18 pm }

Yes, and so many other goodies: JJ Cale, Rodriguez, Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mack, Iron Butterfly, Aretha to name but a small few. And there were the oldies we dug out such as Chuck Berry, Brook Benton and Jackie Wilson.

12 Lizzie { 10.28.13 at 9:39 pm }

Good one Mittens. Strange how gen x and y think all boomers are into schmaltz and that Andre Whathisface. Boomers invented rock!

Dami Im is going to sell a lot of digital downloads… or will she?
Why didn’t she audition for a Kpop show? Is there a Korean version of The X Factor?
As for Dami wining, goes to prove RTV is rigged.

15 Lizzie { 10.28.13 at 11:29 pm }

@14 Don’t understand what a contestant’s heritage has to do with winning?

16 VioletsRBlue { 10.29.13 at 12:07 am }

Marion @14, Dami now lives in Australia, why would she be auditioning for an Xfactor in Korea???? Seriously?? She is a beautiful singer and I hope that she will do reay well post the show!

17 Georgie { 10.29.13 at 12:16 am }

Sounds like someone wasted all their pocket money voting for a loser.

18 mittens { 10.29.13 at 12:21 am }

And the cool black musos of the 20s and 30s invented cool, Lizzie.

19 Lizzie { 10.29.13 at 12:33 am }

Yeah Mittens, the oldies can claim cool, blues, rock, punk and grunge. I’ll happily leave techno and hip hop to gen y :)

20 mittens { 10.29.13 at 12:47 am }

I usually hate techno but hubby has a weird cool fusion of techno with cool oldies that is surprisingly not bad. I’ll find out what it is and get back to you asap.

He also just got 500 top 60s songs and after 70 there wasn’t a lemon there. It had us bopping in the yard on a lovely spring day.

21 Lizzie { 10.29.13 at 12:54 am }

Sounds good Mittens, thanks :) Keep on bopping

22 Marion { 10.29.13 at 12:58 am }

Yes… we know that Lizzie, VioletsRBlue, Georgie and mittens voted for Dami Im…
they voted for Julie Goodwin… too…

23 mittens { 10.29.13 at 1:03 am }

Not tonight Lizzie. I’m off to bed thanks to Jaed. No nned for a warm saucer of milk πŸ˜‰

I’ll get back to you with that music asap.
It will be a Lou Reed memorial tomorrow.

24 mittens { 10.29.13 at 1:07 am }

Marion, you have mistaken me for someone who is watching X Factor but am happy to be thrown in with Georgie, Lizzie and VrB anyday. I like good company. But I didn’t watch hardly any of X Factor.

25 Lizzie { 10.29.13 at 1:08 am }

Duh? Julie who? Yes I voted for Dami. IMO she was the best singer and I wish her well.

26 Marion { 10.29.13 at 1:17 am }

Lizzie @25 Julie who?! Whatever… crawl back into the night sewer…

27 Lizzie { 10.29.13 at 1:20 am }

Thanks Marion. Sweet dreams. :)

28 mittens { 10.29.13 at 1:27 am }

Lizzie. Sweet dreams to you too. Miaow.

29 Lizzie { 10.29.13 at 1:31 am }

Goodnight Mittens :)

30 Georgie { 10.29.13 at 6:56 am }

Hahaha, I didn’t invest my time or money in XF, so you’ll have to find another scapegoat Marion. I watched the first 2 shows and the last 30 minutes to see the winner announced. I didn’t care who won, so long as it wasn’t Jai.

31 Angel86 { 10.29.13 at 8:02 am }

I actually thought Taylor might win, given his better presence in the iTunes charts. He had more songs in the top 100 and they were generally ranked better than Dami’s overall. It’ll be interesting to see album sales.

32 Lizzie { 10.29.13 at 9:54 am }

Ah Marion, Julie won the first Masterchef. I only watched it the year Adam won. Mainly because he was related to a work colleague.
I didn’t think viewers voted on MC. I thought only the judges on the show voted?
