OPEN POST: Masterchef Australia – Curtis Stone Six Course Challenge

It appears it will be difficult for me to recap episodes of Masterchef Australia in a timely manner due to time difference.

Tonight it is a Curtis Stone Six Course Challenge so chat about it here about what you thought about it.

History is history too mate. Google RR afresh to get to the latest site and then your history will be renewed.

2 daisy { 06.28.14 at 5:30 pm }

Boom boom, BDD.

But not if it hurts to.

3 Reality Ravings { 06.28.14 at 6:57 pm }

Yes it is very warm here. Heading to Bangkok Monday. I will send IT guys a list of issues. They decided to move servers after site crashed last Monday night.

4 Eliza { 06.28.14 at 7:00 pm }

None taken, Daisy.. obviously the site just wanted you to read my comments more.. haha, jokes. I had issues too and it is still a bit whack at the moment. I am going to delete my history, searches, etc so I can come to the site fresh. Plus, I get tired of sites stalking me all the time and popping their ads up everywhere.. sneaky buggers.

Oh, MC and the ‘power apron’! I am not sure what it is, just can’t really get into this season. I will be watching but then not fussed on making sure I see the end. I then come here and read the re-caps/comments and find that more entertaining. Usually I am sucked in by now!

Just on that taking you to the Voice Kids thread, Daisy.. there are some weird things going on over there. What was with that post attracting so much spam??!! I refuse to believe that ‘kids’ with such seemingly limited intellectual ability could even get to a website! Plus, they would have to be trying to spell/write so poorly.. surely! One ‘kid’ had a link attached to their name and my browser told me it was trying to trick me into going somewhere. Considering there isn’t crap like that happening on other threads, I just find it odd.

It is quite cold in Sydney today and the wind has come up but I am cosy with the a/c on :) sorry environment and power bill.. I hate being cold.

5 Eliza { 06.28.14 at 7:02 pm }

P.S hope you’re having a great time, RR and thanks for keeping it all going while you’re on holidays! When I am cold I think of being in a nice warm place to help me feel warmer haha..

6 Zhee { 06.28.14 at 7:33 pm }

Just realized it’s 4 weeks to go till the new season of Project Runway. Although I have to listen to Heidi Klum (at least her English is quite good, compared to this German politician:, it’s worth to watch Tim Gunn. :) I have no clue if it’s popular in Australia as you had your own version a few years ago. I guess it’s cancelled because I haven’t seen it in ages on YouTube, but then again it was rather boring, especially the mentor annoyed me with his stupid sunglasses on the head and way too tight shirts…

7 daisy { 06.28.14 at 7:38 pm }

Gels, I’ll be up for try Pro Run.

Same Eliza, AC, electric blanket.

8 Simon { 06.28.14 at 8:23 pm }

RR is acting a little funny for me atm. Noting major but the comment count and comments seem not to update until I do a forced refresh. It used to update automatically before maybe a couple of days ago. I presume when the server was switched. Seems ok otherwise.

9 Mayu { 06.29.14 at 11:32 am }

Daisy Zhee: I am sorry, i just read the posts. I am much better now. Zhee, i do agree to you about feeling like a sister, i truly love chatting here.
Dasiy: i first submitted my assignment and only then met with an accident, so no extra time for my assignment. :p
I am a jeans and T shirt girl. Cant handle anything else, maybe Kurtis. Dont know if you know what Kurtis are! 😀

10 daisy { 06.29.14 at 11:51 am }

Mayu, I am glad you are Ok. You must be pretty tough.
I am totally a kurti girl in summer. I have heaps of them, all bought in either India or Singapore (where they sell good Indian clothes).
My friends tease me and call me Indian Princess because I wear pants made in Thai silk and kurtis and sometimes with nice antique jewellery that I have bought in Sri Lanka or jewellery from N India.

I have jeans and long skirts but kurtis are so easy and comfy.

I am picturing you are only a ‘baby’ and that you have been pretty exposed to Western things. Have you had the chance to travel yet?

What made you choose home economics and are your parents strict? Are they choosing a guy for you?

11 daisy { 06.29.14 at 12:12 pm }

Mayu we are thinking about India again for next year, with my sister. But the closest we will be to your place will probably be Madras.

12 Smythe { 06.29.14 at 4:31 pm }

I am having the same issues as others re: no new posts coming up when I first go to the RR website. However, when I refresh the new posts are there.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. I need a new refrigerator and am not enjoying shopping for one. :-(
AND season 2 OB has ended so can’t even watch that and be entertained.

13 lulu { 06.29.14 at 5:25 pm }

Loved the dancing scene in the last OB!

14 daisy { 06.29.14 at 6:16 pm }

I got up and danced with them. How could I not?

15 lulu { 06.29.14 at 7:20 pm }

Haha you would. Daisy, you could be the long lost Ind/Aus clone.

16 Erin { 06.29.14 at 7:53 pm }

Nice split meringue, Laura.
And she’s meant to be one of the best?

17 daisy { 06.29.14 at 7:57 pm }

Lulu! You mean the clone who made them stop the experiment and throw away the recipe????? Oh dear.

18 Kaz { 06.29.14 at 7:59 pm }

Amelia has to torture the sugar, a unique skill she brings to the MC kitchen in ignorance of Geneva conventions and international law. Oh sorry, misheard, she said torch the sugar on her creme brulee.

19 Erin { 06.29.14 at 8:09 pm }

Think Amy is hot for Brent…

20 Jay { 06.29.14 at 8:29 pm }

Very amusing Kaz re the tortyred sugar.
I am watching tonight and thinking that if I remember correctly, MCAU was such a hit initially because the judges were supportive and only constructive in their criticism. It seems now that the producers have chosen a show that builds them up one minute only to tear them down the next and the judges are often just nasty (unless you’re a favourite) – the contestants never seem to know where they stand.

21 Jay { 06.29.14 at 8:35 pm }

Renae needs to get over herself – it’s only an eel – she should save her tears for when she’s trying to avoid elimination.

By the way – Calorie Loader I enjoyed your version of the Curtis challenge so much more than the show.
Daisy and Mayu I got very confused trying to incorporate your kurtis comments into the Curtis challenge – finally worked it out.

22 Carole { 06.29.14 at 8:39 pm }

Wow, so many comments, finally read them all. Was trying to read them before tonights show.

Hope you are enjoying your holiday RR.

I felt sorry for Emilia when she sliced her finger, it would have been so painful.

I’m glad I wasn’t a judge for that challenge, I don’t like beetroot much, hate goats cheese. The only entree I would have been able to tase was the soup with the lobster. When the judges were wiping the plate with their fingers, I said why don’t you lick the plate, then Matt does just that. What a pig!!!

I agree with what a lot of people said about the judges with Tracey’s dessert. It was cruel and unnecessary. I felt sorry for her when she said she was waiting for them to finish it off and they barely touched it. She seemed devastated. I wonder if the 3 little pigs finished it off after they told her she’d won. I would have told them, nuh it’s all mine!!!!!

23 Carole { 06.29.14 at 9:02 pm }

Forgot to say I love Person Of Interest too Riggedreality. How about that ending, they are all separated. I hope they bring them all back together soon when the new season comes back and that evil man gets his.

24 Sandii { 06.29.14 at 9:27 pm }

I wonder how they decide the order of the tasting. They always seem to leave Sarah til last

25 daisy { 06.29.14 at 10:01 pm }

Jay, you would have enjoyed the loud belly laugh your comment@221 evoked. I have never worn a Curtis.

26 daisy { 06.29.14 at 10:19 pm }

I thought it was weird that the judges told Topknot Brent his dish didn’t taste as good as the other dishes but was more unique.

I don’t like these challenges where some cooks are heavily handicapped by their ingredients or time allowance. They do it to make interesting TV but it doesn’t prove who are the better cooks.

And we are missing Littlepetal tonight.

Sandii, just up to the bit where they needed to put Ranae on oxygen because of her reaction to eel.

27 daisy { 06.29.14 at 10:26 pm }

Does Renae cook fish?
I haven’t ever eaten eel, but why doesn’t Renae just try and think of it as a long fish?
Lucky she didn’t have to kill and cook a snake.
Now that would be a challenge; you catch it, you kill it, you cook it.

28 Kaz { 06.29.14 at 10:30 pm }

See new thread for tonight’s episode…

29 Calorie Loader { 06.30.14 at 3:40 am }

Thanks Jay @ 221, much appreciated :)

30 Riggedreality { 07.03.14 at 3:43 am }

#184 Calorie loader – duck snippet was very amusing.
#153 Smyhte #224 Carole ….nice to meet other fans of Person of Interest….you’ll should watch the Comic con & Paley fest interviews of the cast. Interesting. Root & Shaw rock. Can’t wait for S4!! & apparently they get it on in that season…..go figure!
Yup, Carole they will be getting’ the team back together….they have to….that’s what S4 would be about along with the usual high jinks & I found the S3 finale to be a cliffhanger.

31 DC100 { 10.29.14 at 12:46 am }

The Producers of this programme are adding more & more contrivances with each series. There was only ever one person ‘coming back’ in this series’ repercharge – Sarah, whose elimination was surely a contrivance in itself. Now we get to a point where they offer ‘no elimination’………and someone ‘hides the duck’ from the rest of their team ! Yeah – of course. The 3 wise men continue to say this is the best ever set of cooks – and, again 5 out of 6 dishes are flawed. Unbelievable – lose the ice-cream that was never going to set in time, but don’t even think to put a piece of fresh lemon on a plate of salmon ?!?
