Former Project Runway Australia Host Kristy Hinze Pregnant

Congratulations to Kristy Hinze and Jim Clark with the announcement of their first child on the way.

Kristy Hinze stepped down from being the host of Project Runway Australia because she wanted to concentrate on getting pregnant, and her studies. Megan Gale is the new host, with the show currently filming in Melbourne.

It would appear it has worked, with the SMH reporting she is well into second trimester. This will be her first child, and Jim Clark’s third. It appears the 36 year age gap is not a negative thing for their relationship.

I am sure she won’t be emulating Heidi Klum host of Project Runway, where she took off her knickers and put them in Jay Leno’s gift bag at the Oscars after party.

Project Runway Australia – New Judges Revealed

Project Runway judges

Project Runway Australia are making changes this year. Firstly it will be shown on Fox 8 and not Arena. Also there will be new host Megan Gale.

Also they have cleaned out all the other talent as well. Henry Roth, Sarah Gale and Jayson Brundson will no longer be seen on our screens, they have been replaced by Alex Perry, Jarrad Clark and Kirrily Johnston.

Kirrily Johnston is a fashion designer based in Sydney see her website here.

Jarrad Clark is IMG Director of Global production, and he is based in New York.

The Herald Sun states:

Mentor Alex Perry has promised to tone down his famed antics for the series, which pits designers against one another in the workroom and on the catwalk.

“I hope what I have got to say is firm but fair,” Johnston said.

With one episode in the can, Clark said he was looking forward to what the designers, including four from Victoria, come up with next.

“There are a few standouts,” he said.

“I think there could always be a bit of tension. That is the pressure chamber they are in.”

The Victorian contestants have been revealed (see blog post here). I am still trying to find out if they have released the other contestants names.

This show should be one of the standout Australian productions of the year.

Project Runway Australia – Filming Has Started, Victorian Designers Revealed

Filming has started on the third season of Project Runway Australia in Melbourne. The Herald Sun reports they were filming at historic Ripponlea Homestead.

Megan Gale will be hosting the series for the first time taking over from Kristy Hinze. Also Henry Roth has been flicked for Alex Perry as mentor. I am still not sure what I think about that as I was a big fan of Henry’s. Alex Perry has a quick wit but not a lot of warmth, that both Tim Gunn and Henry Roth have.

There has been no other news on who the judges will be this season with rumours there will be a lot of changes.

The article also revealed the four Victorian contestants. They are Claire Hocking, Craig Braybrook, Matcho Suba and Gabrielle Stephens.

A quick Google revealed the following about the four:

 • Craig Braybrook – appears to be a wedding gown designer (see Australian Brides);
 • Claire Hocking – I cannot find anything except for a kinesiologist so maybe she is wanting a career change;
 • Matcho Suba – Looks extremely interesting if this blog is anything to go by, he must be here on a visa, he is from Serbia and studied in London; and
 • came up with nothing on Gabrielle Stephens.

So if anyone has any further information on these contestants contact me.

Megan Gale Talks About her Split With Andy Lee

Project Runway host Megan Gale was on The Circle today and talked about her split with Andy Lee and said absolutely nothing of interest.

The Daily Telegraph article states:

The brunette beauty said the pair kept their separation under wraps for two months to try to give themselves some privacy.

“I haven’t really talked about it but, in a nutshell, I guess it was something that we both wanted to not talk about a lot initially,” she said on Channel 10′s The Circle yesterday

“We just wanted to get our heads around it.”

When cheeky host Yumi Stynes asked how long before she could hit on Lee, Gale laughed. “Well it’s been… we’re almost there,” she said.

Come Dine With Me Australia is back with the highly anticipated third serving. Loosen your belt, fix yourself a cocktail and settle down for the brand new series which sees everyday Australians battling it out for the title of the ultimate dinner party host. Television and radio presenter James Valentine narrates the series, overseeing each episode with witty observations and unique commentary. The unscripted show follows amateur chefs competing against each other in hosting a dinner party for the other contestants. Each week over five nights, five total strangers take it in turns to cook up their idea of the perfect evening for the other four. Project Runway Australia (Series 3) – ARENA

The Italian housemates of Jersey Shore are back for another season of GTL, fist-pumping and battling grenades. This season there will be a new addition to the Juiced up crew – Deena Nicole Cortese. Cortese, who describes herself as “class in a glass and party in a body,” is a long time friend of Snooki and will join the crew on the sweatin’ shores of Seaside Heights.

Also Masterchef Australia mentor Donna Hay will have her own cooking show on The Lifestyle Channel called Fast, Fresh and Simple.

I note they haven’t mentioned American Idol which will be fast tracked from the US early in the New Year. They must be thinking the new judging panel of J-Lo, Steve Tyler and Randy Jackson are not going to be able fill the void that Simon Cowell’s absence will have.

Confirmed: Kristy Hinze NOT To Host Project Runway Australia

In the worst kept rumour in reality TV Kristy Hinze has confirmed she won’t be hosting the third season of Project Runway Australia. Kristy told Sydney Confidential she will be concentrating on her studies and spending time with her billionaire husband.

It is no secret that Kristy is hoping to procreate with her husband in 2011.

Now who will be the new host for the show?

The earlier rumours from this year was that it was going to be Megan Gale. However other people will be desperate for the job.

Nicole Trufino could be another possibility as she has been on US TV hosting Search For A Super Model. Lara Bingle will be putting her hand up but has yet to transition from model to TV star.

Laura Dundovic is the new golden girl of Foxtel so she may also get a chance to throw her hat in the ring. Sarah Murdoch would be fantastic in the role, however she is tied up with Australia’s Next Top Model.

If you want to apply to be a contestant on the show go to http://projectrunwayaustralia.castasugar.com/

Project Runway Australia Is Casting

It looks like there will be Season three of Project Runway Australia on our screens in 2011, as they are now looking for people to apply.

If you can design clothes and/or sew apply here. Applications are due in by the 4 January 2011.

Last year’s series did not get off the ground because the producers could not find enough talent. Also it is doubtful Kristy Hinzes will be hosting the show again, due to other priorities in the US. The last rumour I heard about her replacement was Megan Gale but that was a few months ago.

Hopefully the delightful Henry Roth, Sarah Gale, and Jayson Brundson remain on the cast.

Golden Globes Dresses From Project Runway Alumni

Newly married Christina Hendricks, from television series "Mad Men" in a nude dress with a ruffle skirt by Christian Siriano. Photo: AP Photo and Getty

Project Runway winner Christian Siriano designed this gown for Mad Men star Christina Hendricks. All I can say is the Hollywood tape must be working overtime, however it is great to see a real woman on the red carpet.

Chris March designed Meryl Streep’s who won a golden globe dress. Hopefully this mean she is a Project Runway fan which would be pretty cool. If I can find a full length shot I will change the photo. Speaking of Project Runway the US edition will finally be screened here in March. However I need to clarify whether it is the series set in LA which was screened in the US at the end of last year, or the new one that started screening in the US this week. Also for Project Runway Australia fans, they will be replaying the whole of Season 2 on Australia Day, if you have not seen it this show it is as good if not better then its US counterpart. Arena TV will be sticking with it as they have announced a third season will be filmed this year.
