The Amazing Race – Chad and Stephanie Pregnant
Fans of The Amazing Race will know on last week’s episode Chad proposed to Stephanie in Oman. And she surprisingly or stupidly accepted.
Well news has just trickled out that they have married and she is three months pregnant. Chad has not had a good editing on the show and is looking like an immature douche, but on the plus side he still has not knocked Jonathan from the Victoria and Jonathan team, as most reviled guy ever on the show.
Congratulations guys, and good luck Stephanie, I think you are going to need it.
In other The Amazing Race news the US all stars production is currently running through Sydney, with rumours they are on there way to Broken Hill. I am suspecting Rex Airlines put on a special flight for them, as there is no way 12 teams can rock up with camera crew and fit on those planes.
Here is the list of teams on the all-stars from a commenter on TV Tonight:
Chasingvegas says:
Teams are made up of the last few seasons (S?)
Kynt and Vyxsin (12)
Ron and Christina (12)
Amanda and Kris (14)
Kisha and Jen (14)
Jaime and Cara (14)
Margie and Luke (14)
Mel and Mike (14)
Steve and Linda (14)
Flight Time and Big Easy (15)
Zev and Justin (15)
Jet and Cord (16)
Gary and Mallory (17)
It looks great with some of my favourite teams from the last couple of seasons. Love the cowboys Jet and Cord, and for some reason I liked Gary and Mallory.

The Amazing Race – No Speedbump For Nick and Vicki
In The Amazing Race episode in St Petersburg, Russia, there was no speed bump for Nick and Vicki after they had come in last the previous leg.
I had noticed it at the time of watching the episode but I thought it had been taken out in editing.
However Reality Blurred writes the reason there was no speed bump was there was a production hitch in the previous leg of the race.
Production hitch can mean issues with cameras, but he cites a source which says Nick and Vicki in the classical music detour had been told one music pieces was wrong when it was in fact right.
Also in the next leg, all the teams took off at the same time. I had not picked that.
Props to Reality Blurred as he updates the story here and he goes on to say the production issue effected a few teams.

The Amazing Race – Oman
It appears to be the week of proposals on reality TV shows. Last night was Brenton and Chez on The Block, and tonight Chad proposed to Stephanie on The Amazing Race. Surprisingly she said yes. But then that is why he asked her on the show, as it does make it pretty difficult to decline.
Considering the leg started off pretty bad for them as they slept in and missed their pit stop start time by nearly two hours. Is that the first time anyone has missed their pitstop time?
Anyway it didn’t matter all the groups caught up once they were in Muscat, Oman.
As is the case on this show once you have a bad day it is normally someone elses turn. And on this day it was Mallory and Gary, as they went the wrong way, and got horribly lost.
However the two doctors got lost as well, but they did not seem panicked, which meant they must have known there was a team was behind them.
But at the front of the pack Jill and Thomas, and Chad and Stephanie. Stephanie was on a high after Chad got down on a bended knee, in front of cameras, and the other teams.
They got out of the roadblock first, which was a rapel, then finding a ring in one of the many tea pots. Then on the detour they did the water challenge where teams had to deliver a load of water to a house. Interestingly enough no one did the cooking one, as how long would it take to cook a chicken casserole at least a couple of hours.
Jill and Thomas hit the pit stop first but were penalised 30 minutes for paying a cab driver to show them on a part of the leg, so Chad and Stephanie came in first.
This must be a new rule in the past few seasons, as I have seen it happen on previous series. Obviously the producers close any loop that the contestants come up with each time.
Mallory and Gary were last to arrive and were eliminated. Next week it will be interesting to see how far behind the pack the doctors are.
Points to Brooke and Claire for jumping on Phil at the pitstop.

The Amazing Race Is Racing And Has A Host – Grant Bowler
Well if you put in an application and haven’t been contacted the bad news is you won’t be, as The Amazing Race Australia started yesterday in Melbourne.
There are spoilers on Reality Fan Forums with some photos, one of helicopters on the MCG and one with seven lots of back packs and lots of speculation.
Teams were also spotted at Melbourne Airport.
Also in other good news Grant Bowler has been named as the host of the show. He is no stranger to reality TV as he hosted The Mole. (Source: TV Tonight)
But the big question will he be able to do the one eyebrow raise like US host Phil Keoghan?

The Amazing Race – The Episode Of The Dating Couples
Tonight was the episode where we saw how the dating couples were coping with the race thus far. Jill and Thomas, and Nick and Vicky seem to be tracking ok, but for Chad and Stephanie things were not looking so peachy in what was a trying leg.
Chad as we have seen glimpses of in previous is a douche, and I don’t know why Stephanie is so in love with him, his ego is larger than his IQ.
Tonight the teams had to get from Norway to St Petersburg, and for Mallory who had never been on a train before it was an amazing first trip. All the teams arrived in Russia at the same time.
However it all started going pear shaped after that. The detour was diabolical this week a nice change from some of the easy challenges in Norway.
They had the choice between Classical Music where they had to listen to three composistions and then try and identify it with the live pianists. The kicker was handing in all three scores at the same time.
The other choice was classic cinema where they had to find the film matching what is on the screen, and it was like finding a needle in a haystack.
Jill and Thomas were the first to complete the detour, and in the end the cinema one was quicker to complete then the music one. In fact most of the teams ditched the music one to go to the film studio.
I note Brook the home shopping host didn’t try and plant a kiss on the Russian guy at the film studio, something she has done in most of the other legs of the race.
Chad and Stephanie were just randomly picking out music sheets and Chad was angry, in the end he had to take the back seat which apparently he did not want to. I hope Stephanie reads the signs and leave him. Particularly as he said after the baboushka roadblock he said keep the outfit you can clean the house with it back home. Nice!
Jill and Thomas quickly blew their lead by getting lost again so Brook and Claire arrived at the roadblock first.
At the roadblock they had to dress as a baboushka and plant potatoes and top with manure.
Brook got lost finding the field, and had an episode about getting manure on her, that compared to getting a watermelon in the face like her partner Claire is nothing.
Nick and Vicki were not having a great day they were having issues with both detours, but finally after returning to the music one they got through.
Kevin stuffed up and told his Dad the pit stop was not across the street from the monument and missed coming first on the leg, so Jill and Thomas won the trip to Brazil.
Brook and Claire were team number two with Michael and Kevin coming in third.
Back at the roadblock the girls were having trouble finding the wheel barrows.
Mallory was raced off by a fifty year old russian but had a blond moment saying she couldn’t understand his Russian or Swedish.
For Nick and Vicky they were unable to catch up and were last to arrive. However I was glad it wasn’t an elimination leg as even they were having a really difficult day they handled it with dignity and without screaming at each other. They deserved a second chance.

The Amazing Race – Does Phil’s Eyebrow Need To Be Insured?
The doctors were both facing their demons on this leg of the race. One was scared of heights, and had to go on a gondolier, and the other was a vegetarian who had to eat a sheep’s head. Lucky for her her friend ate the meat, as the acrophobic would have another height issue at the Roadblock if she had been the one rapel off the bridge.
But on the bright side they took the fast forward and were at the pit stop first, with a good time lead for the next leg of the race.
I am loving the episodes in Scandinavia, it is just such a stunning part of the world, however living there must be tough in winter.
Brooke the home shopping host is really irritating me as she does not shut up. Is anyone else having this issue with her?
And if she says “Girl you’ve got this again” when she flicks yet another difficult roadblock to her partner I am going to scream. I cannot wait until Brook has to take a s**t sandwich on a roadblock. (By the way I had written that prior to seeing the preview of next week’s episode).
Vicki and Nick are so dumb what do they think it “Fast Forward Taken” means? She did the rapel but then she is so stupid she probably does not have the neurones to feel fear. Also this team cannot do numbers for reason Nick thought they were going to come in second but they were sixth.
The Asian father/son team chose the boats in the detour and finished quickly, but the bike detour was quicker and Gary & Mallory were second to the pitstop.
Jill and Thomas a dating couple were starting to fracture, as as soon as anything goes wrong they start screaming at each other.
I don’t know why the beach volleyball girls did the boat over the bikes as they could have made up time. However they were the last team to arrive, and they were eliminated from the race, which was a pity as I thought they were contenders.
Maybe Phil needs to insure his eyebrow as it is a major part of his appeal it will be asking for its own dressing room soon.

The Amazing Race – Great Location, But Not So Great Challenges
Kevin and Michael who finished last in the previous episode were back in the game pretty quickly this leg. They were smart enough to find another flight, and their speed bump task of sitting on a ice chair looked painful but it only took 10 minutes.
What was the point of the fake bear at the road block? It was ridiculous. In fact the whole road block was a bit dodgy, were the contraptions the huskies were pulling looked like quad?
Jill And Thomas missed an arrow and were running last, and decided to use their express pass after a half hearted attempt at putting up the tent on the detour.
Chad and Stefanie had a meltdown over the sled ride, as she decided she could not do it after one attempt.
Johnathan from the Glee team, were also having issues and had to switch tasks. As did the girl volleyballers.
However, Nick and Vicki found the challenge easy as they are more of a physical team than mental. No surprise there.
The two doctors Nat and Kat came in first at the pit stop on the Norwegian border and won a trip to Belize.
Gary and Mallory were team number two, and Brooke and Claire were third.
Sadly Jonathan and Connor were the ones that were eliminated. Here is an exit interview with them at Buddy TV.

The Amazing Race – Still in Ghana
Nat and Kat just had one of those hideous days on The Amazing Race, they had cab drivers who got lost going to both the destinations plus one taxi had a breakdown. Surprisingly they did not.
This leg was again in Ghana, and it was OK, not the most exciting episode, nor the most boring. The home shopping hosts were the first to leave the pitstop, the market in Accra to got to the roadblock which was a boxing training challenge.
And most people left in the order they arrived, however Mallory and her father managed to work there way up the pack. I actually quite like Mallory she is quite sweet, and what she said about the kids in Ghana was true. She said this is the life they know, and my life is the one I know.
The best part of the detour was seeing the American’s try and identify where Ghana actually was. To be fair I didn’t have a clue, but if I was flying there I would have ducked into the airport bookship to look at a map.
As predicted the tattooed pair from LA struggled with the geography quiz, but then the Princeton Glee boys did as well. They said “Princeton really is a good school”. They ran a great leg and came in first on the pitstop.
The other highlights of the episode:
- The number of teams that did not read the clue correctly and had to go back and get the building supplies was at least over 50% of the teams;
- All the teams who could not work out the language detour with the code and had to go off and do the bicycle wheel challenge;
- The beach volleyball girls are a class act, as are the doctors they don’t get upset with each other; and
- The fact the at this pitstop they will stop for over 24 hours to do some work on the school.
It was a non-elimination round, lucky for the asian father and son team. Next week the Arctic.

The Amazing Race – London to Ghana
Normally The Amazing Race plus an African destination means reality TV gold, but tonight I thought the episode was a bit ho-hum.
All the teams flew together from London to Accra, Ghana so they were all in the race this leg.
Again this week I felt sorry for Gary and Mallory who two weeks in a row have had some bad luck with transport, this week was a broken down taxi, last leg of the race a flat tyre.
First was the roadblock where they had to sell sunglasses at the markets. Now in these challenges you need to put your blond female team mate in, as they attract far more attention. The home shopping girl and the Mallory sold it fast to the younger homeboy guys. HOwever the anomaly of this theory was Jill who took a long time to make her money.
“Give me a sales challenge, bring it on,” says the homeshopping team, deluding herself that it was her sales ability that made them come out of the roadblock first.
Next was the detour with the choice between fixing an aerial to a roof, or lugging assorted coffins around. Neither of the challenges presented many problems so most people stayed in the order they got there in. So not a lot of suspense.
However we did get to see more of the teams, and the Glee team and the girl doctors look like they are a lot of fun.
The Homeshopping girls game in first, and Andie and Jenna were eliminated.
With the all girl teams taking out first and second place this could be the first season an all girl team wins.
Here is an elimination interviews with Andie from Reality Wanted and Buddy TV where she says it was a bad taxi drivers who stuffed the race for them.

The Amazing Race Season 17 – Episode 1 – Great Casting
This season might be the first time an all girl team wins The Amazing Race. The beach volleyball girls could be the first all girl team to take out the race, or if the two girl doctors have any sporty spice in them they could give it a good crack.
I don’t see the Glee boys taking it out, but I think they could be the most entertaining.
The casting is fantastic this season with the usual beauty queen who this time Miss Kentucky, and the various combinations of dating couples and parents with kids.
But probably the most interesting on team to watch for their dynamic will be the birth mom and adopted daughter. Apparently they don’t know each other that well, and I think for the first part of the race they will be polite but then who knows?
Chad is going to propose to his girlfriend on the race, though if his behaviour on the first leg was anything to go by she won’t be accepting.
Host Phil Keoghan with his newly dyed hair, started the race in Boston, and told the teams they were flying to London.
After landing it London it was then off to Stonehenge. Annie from the biological mother daughter team clearly lied on her application form that she could drive a manual car, as she just about killed the car before getting out of Heathrow Airport. The Home shopping channel girls were also having issues particularly on hills.
Great challenge on those medieval boats, as it was all down to technique. Chad who is some sort of alpha male was getting very frustrated that they kept on sinking.
After the boats there was a roadblock where the infamous watermelon scene occurred where Claire one of the home shopping hosts got hit in the face with one. Also it did clear up one thing they were up there in in the pack, so no wonder Brooke was telling Claire to ignore her concussion and get on with it. Sorry Brooke you would drive me nuts you don’t shut up.
By this stage Jo and Thomas were first and won the express pass, a reward that has been given for the first time. This means they can use it up to leg number eight and use it to skip a task or challenge.
I was most disappointed Ron and Troy (African-American best friends) were eliminated, as they looked like they were such nice guys. But they must have gotten hideously lost as they couldn’t catch up even with the Kentucky team who got a flat tyre.
But lucky for us the tattooed couple Nick & Vicky are still in the race. As her exclamation of “I promise you we are not that dumb” is looking a little shaky. She had never heard of Stonehenge, could not find the medieval flag or boat, and then on the pitstop said to Phil she was in the country of London. Hell yeah these guys are going to be a hoot.
