MasterChef Australia – Chris Badenoch ‘DickGate’ Saga – Are There More Women?
Now writing a reality TV blog sees me get emails from all sorts of people telling me different gossip about the shows and the contestants. As far as I am concerned if they say it is off the record it remains off the record, or in some cases the information is unverifiable, or potentially slanderous. Having said that I love reading it all.
However sometimes people try to use the social media for their own personal vendettas, and that appears to be the case in the continuing saga of MasterChef Australia resident bad boy Chris Badenoch who created his very own Dickgate saga.
For those who don’t know about this tawdry tale I will start at the beginning.
After MasterChef Australia had been on a few weeks I twigged that Chris Badenoch was seeing two women in Melbourne, Gemma Pritchard and Homaxi Irani who he lived with, and I soon realised they did not know he was sleeping with each of them.
Once it broke that Chris was allegedly seeing another MasterChef Australia contestant Julia Jenkins, I knew I was sitting on a hot yarn. I was in a dilemma about whether to use my knowledge to boost the profile of my blog by breaking the story.
After a few days of ‘will I or won’t I’ , and a bit of sniffing around the affected parties I decided not to, as both Homaxi and Gemma seemed like nice woman who were about to become collateral damage in a reality TV scandal just because they had made an error of judgement with a man. And let’s face it haven’t we all.
I decided if the scandal broke I would just follow it, which I did.
In one of the breaking media stories an unnamed “third” woman was mentioned who had received sexy text messages from MasterChef’s equivalent of Shane Warne last year. It took me about 24 hours to find out her name. Again I was not going to run with it.
At this point in time I noticed on a lot of my MasterChef Australia blog posts, there were comments from people that appeared to know some of the inside gossip. This was possibly a mixture of friends of scorned parties or pissed off contestants or even the women themselves. Which I had no problem with at all.
At the end of July I sent off a message to what I presumed was a fake facebook account which from their postings indicated they had some inside information on the Chris and Julia relationship. I thought it was either one of the disgruntled woman or a pissed off MasterChef contestant. Just because I was not publishing what I knew did not mean I was not curious.
Last week the non de plume responded and admitted an ‘interaction’ with Chris Badenoch, and asked me to keep it confidential. I knew immediately who I was communicating with and was happy to keep things off the record, and in fact had a bit of sympathy for her.
The person was happy to name another women she believed Chris was or had been sleeping with, and said I may want to use some of the information she gave me for a future story. I certainly was not going to use information from someone who emailed me from a fake facebook account. Also at this stage I was more interested in his cheating from the house and how the other contestants felt about this.
I soon realised there may have been another agenda as at the same time this lady was emailing me she was also trying to whip up a yarn with a tabloid current affairs program.
This person has been a regular commenter on my blog under various names and I am not one to spoil their fun, however if they wish to remain anonymous and are going to leaving provocative comments on my blog like this you are asking for trouble:
“i do realise that none of us have asked about the text pesting and the other possible hanky panky chick.
has this creep got more up his sleeve ?”
The lady in question was very lucky she did not get what she asked for when I saw this comment at 5.15am at Melbourne airport on Wednesday morning after five hours sleep.
Now if they are wanting to whip up more nasty stories about Chris Badenoch (and we all now know he is a loverat) for their own personal vendetta, be very careful as you may find it will backfire on you, and from my understanding this lady would have a lot to lose. And that is why I am not naming them.
If I was a salacious gossip blogger the woman in question may have found her photo with a link to her blog on my site. I am no fan of Chris’s behaviour, but if they are going to try whip up a Chris Badenoch womaniser story be careful as they might find themselves in it.
