Elite Modelling Agency Is Downsizing But Alice Burdeau Has Survived.

Who knew but even the economic crisis is affecting modelling agencies. Fashionindie reports Elite had cut 60 girls from their books, but Australia’s Next Top Model winner Alice Burdeau is still there.

However no news on whether season 11 American Next Top Model contestants Katarjyna and Anya made the cut.

Christian Sirano – Project Runway Season 4 Winner Update
Christian Sirano the young whipper snapper who took out the previous season’s title appears to be the most successful winner with a post Project Runway career. This article on WSJ outlines what he has been doing. Because of the tough economic times some of the places that were going to buy his collection have cancelled, however he is still making a living out of endorsements.

Oh and anyone who thought going on a reality TV show was stupid, prior to Project Runway Christian was working on a make up counter at Bloomingdales.

Aussie American Idol contestant Michael Johns is now in Australia for a promotional trip for Idol. Not sure what he is going to do, but Fox 8 has brought him out.

He will probably hit the radio airwaves and TV talk shows.

MTV has an article here that outlines American Idol judge Paula Abdul’s other unexplained faux pas on the show. It has been all over the world about last weeks slip up of judging the song before it has been sung. But MTV have dredged their memories to come up with some more.

Natalie Gauci Recording An Album
Sightings of last year’s Australian Idol winner have been slim as she is in the studio recording an album. Apparently they are wanting to take it slowly to ensure it is a quality album. A strategy which worked for Damien Leith last year, as well as Leona Lewis.

Revlon say Alice Burdeau stood them up at an event because of partying too hard.
Revlon allege that last season’s winner of Australia’s Next Top Model Alice Burdeau stood them up for an event the night after the Logies. It was rumoured that she may have knocked back to much of the free champagne and was not in any shape to make it.

Her people deny it of course, and say Alice was never confirmed for the event. However apparently she was unable to speak at the MTV awards, this was reported on Vega. Maybe she is trying to emulate fashion icon Kate Moss too much. Or maybe she should just eat a few more canapes with her champagne.

An addendum to the above article in today’s Daily Tele states an ‘anon source’ said she did look disorientated at the Logies. She apparently arrived 3 hours before the start of the ceremony and was a bit squiffy even before it started. A minder said she was back in her hotel by 1.00am.

Personally I thought it was obligatory to get smashed at the Logies as that was the only way to cope with the evening.

Australia’s Next Top Model publicity team has really cranked it up this week in preparation for the start of the show’s fourth series on Fox 8 on 22 April at 7.30pm.

Last years winner and international success story Alice Burdeau will be flying in next week. I am not sure if this is timed to coincide with the start of the show, or to do with some lined up commitments with Vogue. She will doing a shoot, plus be an ambassador at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week.

Last night the show was launched and Vogue editor Kirstie Clements said this year’s contenders had not produced the ‘obvious’ winner she saw in Alice last year.

Alice’s success overseas has definitely validated the show as a launch pad to a modelling career.

In an article yesterday in the Daily Terror Alex Perry one of the judges said at a glance, Burdeu can a look a plain Jane, and one of the interesting aspects of the show is that it explains the mysteries of fashion modelling.

Perry says the interpretation of beauty is a big thing.

“The girls who are the most famous and achieve that really high status are never the beautiful, blonde-haired, blue-eyed beach babe that people think Australia’s Next Top Model should be,”

“They are not the girls who work for Vogue international and do all those international shows. It’s getting down to basic, it’s the bone structure those girls have.

For success on the show Perry states:

“They have to have the whole thing,”

“Their bodies have to be perfect, their skin has to be flawless and they have to have good personalities and can get on with a lot of people – and translate that on to film.”

Personally I didn’t think someone like that existed.

It was interesting to read that judges avoid footage of the girls in the mansion which does show a more realistic view of the contestants personalities.

“We hear a few reports but the only thing we see weekly is the elimination process and we never see them at home, “

“When I finally watch it going to air, it surprises me, some of the behaviour, and if I was watching that as it was happening during judging, it would taint my view.

“Some girls last year – I thought “Are you kidding me?”

“So I prefer to go on what they’ve done on the catwalk and in photographs. It’s not a personality competition -it’s about what they can deliver as a model.”

So You Think You Can Dance Gossip and this is getting into the banal – Jack nearly arrested in New York.
In TV Week Jack reveals he was busting to go to the toilet when he was on the Subway.

“I got off at the next stop to find a bathroom, and after I found one, I started walking around, not really knowing where I was.

“Suddenly, this van drove up on the footpath and almost hit me! These cops jumped out and arrested two guys, who were standing next to me, for dealing drugs. They asked me, if I was part of it and I said no and took off!”

The other riveting piece of information in TV Week was that Henry used to be teased when he was young for dancing.

Todd McKenny is a lush.
Todd McKenny a judge on Dancing with the Stars was found guilty for drink driving and was banned from driving until July. The full details are here. What I found interesting that he only copped such a small penalty when he was already on a good behaviour licence. Methinks if he wasn’t a celeb a much harsher penalty would have been given out.

Guy Sebastian reveals Matt Corby to be his Wedding Singer.
Those who pray together, sing together. Guy Sebastian has revealed Matt Corby will be his wedding singer at his May wedding. They apparently met last year and became friends when Matt was in Australian Idol. Full story here.

Australia’s Next Top Model winner Alice Burdeau shows there is careers after reality tv.
Today it was revealed she will be heading to London to shoot an ad campaign for Dolce and Gabbana. This campaign will be shot by uber famous photographer Mario Testino. This is on top of modelling for New York fashion week. I don’t think we will be seeing her home anytime soon.

Alice Burdeau last years winner of Australia’s Next Top Model is proving there is life after reality tvdom. She hit the cat walk at New York Fashion Week.

Alice’s post TV career is proving a success as apparently she is also shortlisted for a prestigious Prada campaign.

Here is a photo of her on the catwalk for Prosenza Schouler I think you would have come back from a month on Survivor to get away with wearing those trousers on your hips!
