Long time readers of this blog will no I am no prude, however this interview Tyson Beckford gave at the front of the Victoria Secret’s show where his girlfriend Shanina Shaik was walking really goes into the inappropriate/too much information category.

Tyson who is 40 years old to Shanina’s 21 years have been living together in NYC and he shared where they have sex and how. Tyson met Shanina when he was a judge on Make Me A Supermodel. Shanina was runner up on the that show when she was a teenager. On the show Shanina had had a dalliance with Tom in the house, however shortly after the show finished she moved to New York, where Tyson “mentored” her.

Make Me A Supermodel winner Rhys Uhlich has hit the papers with news he was given a penalty notice for being drunk in a public place.

The Herald Sun reports Rhys was chased by police after he overturned a wheelie bin full of bottles.

The article states:

Uhlich said he was sorry for his bad behaviour.

“I was just trying to show off to my mates,” said Uhlich, who is staying at his mother’s place for the summer holiday period. “It was like, ‘Who can be the biggest d—head?’ And it was me.

“I wasn’t trying to hurt anyone, but like the police said, there were bottles on the road.”

He added that he didn’t run away from the scene in an attempt to evade police.

“I didn’t know there were cops – I just panicked because I saw a whole lot of bottles,” he said.

“When I found out there were police I was already on the ground because I fell over.

I apologised a million times over.”

Uhlich said he took full responsibility for his actions.

“Sometimes people in the public eye – I guess maybe there’s a bit of pressure and it gets too much for them and obviously they can explode, but I think that’s a poor excuse,” he said. “I’m just not going to let myself drink if I can’t handle that sort of pressure.”

Good on him for taking responsibility, but I had not realised he was still in the public eye. The article does say he is now a former teacher so he must be getting work modelling.

Clearly it is a slow news days, when Make Me A Supermodel winner, Rhys Uhlich makes the news because he nearly got taken by a bull shark.

Maybe I should show more sympathy, because it must have freaked him out, if you are interested in reading about the near miss go to the Daily Telegraph site.

Make Me A Supermodel runner-up Shanina Shaik looks like she is making a modelling career for herself overseas. She has spent the last four months in New York being mentored by Tyson Beckford. Well I hope that was all he is doing….

She appeared in a dozen New York Fashion Week shows, and appeared in an ad for hair brand Matrix. Also the Daily Tele reports a rumour that Victoria’s Secret may being interested in her. Good luck.

The Channel Seven program Make Me A Supermodel is yet to be renewed. It failed to bring in the rating bonanza it was expected even though it was popular in the 18-25 demographic.

This show grew on me  helped by the dramas in the house, yes Shanina and Tom you guys, and by the finale I liked it.

Officially Seven are saying it is pencilled in for the second half of the year  as “part of their future planning”. However rumours are saying negotiations between the TV station and the producer Southern Star are stalling because Seven are demanding a cheaper version.

Now what does this mean for the host of the show Jennifer Hawkins? Her other show The Great Outdoors  has been shelved as well. She is contracted to Seven until the end of this year. Seven said “Yes there are  programs in development here with Jen, it’s too early to discuss them at this stage.”

Shanina Shaik must have been wondering last night whether the cheating scandal, where she bribed Tom with sexual favours to help her with a challenge cost her the title of the show Make Me A Supermodel.

Shanina looked suitably shocked and upset when Rhys name was called out as the winner.

Yes he was the nicest but was he the most deserving winner? The teeny boppers that vote in this show may have not liked that Shanina as she was also the third party in a love triangle.

More savvier (ok I mean older viewers) would realise the angst that Tom was showing over cheating on his teenage girlfriend was just the usual puppy love hiccups that occurs, NOT some huge betrayal of her.

I know it would have felt like that for him and her, but looking back they will wonder what the drama was all about. It would appear they have broken up by now by what he was saying on the TV.

Shanina will take heart from the fact that Demelza Reveley, winner of this year’s Australia’s Next Top Model, who was protagonist in a bullying scandal has gone on to continue her modelling career.
