Hot Rumour – New Project Runway Australia Judges
The hot rumour doing the rounds at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia is that the two new judges on Project Runway Australia this year are Claudia Navone and Peter Morrissey. Both Jarryd Clark and Kirrily Johnson confirmed to me that they were not judges on season four of the program due to work commitments.
I am seeking confirmation from Foxtel and will update when I get it.

Fashion Week Uncut – Reality Ravings Reporting Live From Fashion Week With Fashion Blogger Frockwriter
You may be wondering what that flashing button is on the right of the blog and it is a link to a collaboration I am doing this week at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia with highly respected journalist and fashion specialist Patty Huntington. Patty has an influential fashion blog called Frockwriter.
Fashion Week Uncut (www.fashionweekuncut.com) is a live blog which will provide an ‘all access’ pass to backstage, front row and the catwalk. This year fashion week has been infiltrated by reality TV personalities behind the scenes, on the catwalk, and in the front row. In fact the highest profile designer there this year is Whitney Port who is a veteran of three reality shows, The Hills, The City and is a judge on the next series of Britains and Ireland’s Next Top Model.
Also the winner of Project Runway Australia, Dylan Cooper is showing along with judge Kirrily Johnson. There will also be a plethora of Australia’s Next Top Model contestants and winners strutting down the catwalk.
And of course Lara Bingle is rumoured to be filming her new reality TV show at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week as well.
Then there is always the front row….
Now I realise that not all my readers give a hoot about fashion week, so Injera has kindly agreed to write for the blog this week to ensure there is a steady diet of reality TV news. Also Network Ten kindly did not commence Masterchef Australia until next Sunday.
However if you are into fashion or just like the carnival of big events, it is the biggest fashion event in Australia, come and check it out.
Our aim is to provide comprehensive “real time” reportage, covering the models, designers and their collections, the celebrities, and the fashion pack. It will also include left field fashion analysis, interviews and conversation to make it informative and entertaining viewing.
Patty and I are being helped with our coverage by Anthony who is a intern at this blog, and also Anielka who will be photographing the collections and the colour and movement of the week.

Whitney Port To Show Her Collection At Mercedes Benz Fashion Week
Reality TV is colliding with Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, with news reality TV star Whitney Port will be showing her Whitney Eve and We By Whitney Eve label on the first night.
Whitney Port is currently one of the judges on the up coming season of Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model, with Tyson Beckford and Elle Macpherson. However her reality TV career started on The Hills and continued on her own series The City which followed the start of her fashion career.
You can check out her collection here and can buy it online, however going by her website it looks like the only Sydney stockists are Jade and Bella.
Also last year’s Project Runway Australia winner, Dylan Cooper will be showing there, as well as current Project Runway judge Kirrily Johnston, and former judge Jayson Brundson.

Auditions! Auditions!
Project Runaway Australia is ready to set off on a new search for our nation’s next big fashion designers in the upcoming fourth season, hosted by supermodel Megan Gale. Applications are now open online here.
The contestant call is also sent out for the new season of Beauty and the Geek Australia, the social experiment helping girls be more than just beautiful, and awkward men to woo them. I currently study at the University of Technology, Sydney, and last year, geeky guys and pretty girls were being signed up to the show on my campus. I had to stop and take another look when a Beauty and the Geek casting stall was set up at my uni. I wonder if that’ll happen again this year? Hopefully, I’ll remember to take pics this time! (the line wasn’t long when I passed it). Apply as a geek or beauty here!
Meanwhile, registrations for The X Factor Australia are still going. The dates and details for applying are here in realityraver’s post and here on the official website.
I can’t sew and I’m not awkward or extremely interested in pretty girls, so I can’t say I’m that keen on trying out for the first two shows! But if I can gather a few friends for The X Factor Australia audition, it’ll hopefully be fun! (And better than my Australian Idol experience a few years back).
Yet, nothing would get me more thrilled than the auditions announcement for the return of Big Brother Australia! Stay up to date with their official Nine website, twitter account @bbau9 and Facebook page for the first whispers!
A few weeks ago, I was mislead to excitement when they tweeted something along the lines of: “The wait will soon be over! Auditions coming soon!” – but then I haven’t heard anything since. And checking back on their page, that tweet has been deleted. Strange?!
Let me know which reality shows you would audition for, even if they’re not looking for contestants at the moment!

Arena TV Has A Cute Advertisement Highlighting Their Fashion Shows in 2012
Arena TV are looking very slick with their line up this year. The ad above outlines the fashion shows for 2012.
These include Project Runway Australia, The Rachel Zoe Project, Mad Fashion and Wag Nation. I would not have thought Wag Nation was fashion show but I suppose the clothes the WAG’s are going to be wearing will be nice.

Project Runway Final – And We Have A Winner
Twenty-one year old Dylan Cooper was the surprise winner of Project Runway Australia Season Three. He won with his pastel and print collection.
Favourite to win Johnny Schembri came third. It must have been because of the perspex, I am not sure why he thought it was so fabulous. It made his beautiful cuts adn designs look cheap.
Craig Braybrook the evening wear designer came second must have been disappointed. However Kirrily Johnston in judging queried whether he was just a very good made to order designer. He looked devastated that he did not win. And I didn’t quite believe that “he was not disappointed at all”.
Both the young boys have a huge futures.
Do you think the right person won?

Australia’s Next Top Model – It is Monday So Another Alex Perry Story
It is amazing how every Monday without fail there is a yarn about Australia’s Next Top Model in the papers. Normally involving something judge Alex Perry said or did not say. Always handy when the episode is going to air tonight….
This time it comes from Project Runway Australia finalist Craig Braybrook who said to the Herald Sun that Alex Perry and the Project Runway contestants used to make negative comments about fat people.
The article states:
PROJECT Runway Australia finalist Craig Braybrook has weighed into the Perrygate scandal.
Known for his catty comments, the Melbourne designer couldn’t resist letting slip that contestants and mentor Alex Perry would often make swipes about curvy people on the set of the Foxtel reality series.
“On the show he was always like ‘I hate fat people’,” Braybrook said.
“He used to say it all the time.”
Last week Perry denied he was a “fattist” after copping a barrage of criticism for describing a size 8 Australia’s Next Top Model contestant, Alissandra Moone , as “overstuffed luggage”.
Perry was slammed in the media and on social networking sites after he led the charge to send Moone, 18, packing when she could not fit into a size 10 designer dress.
The Perrygate saga followed an angry war of words with former Biggest Loser host Ajay Rochester, who claims Perry hates fat women and had openly mocked her body.
Perry described Rochester’s claims as reprehensible and said there was no way Moone was a size 8 when she was on the show.
“Somehow everyone thinks I hate fat people … I have somehow become the new skinny ambassador,” Perry said at the time.
“I can dress a big girl better than anybody.”
The Project Runway Australia finale just happens to be on Arena TV tonight as well at 8.30pm, and the Australia’s Next Top Model episode is on Fox 8 at 7.30pm.

Project Runway – The Final Three Were No Real Surprise
Sorry I have been a bit lax with my Project Runway recaps, fortunately or unfortunately the free to air reality TV has been overwhelming over the past few months.
However I will make some quick comments about the final three. It was no surprise that Johnny, Craig and Dylan made the final three as they have been consistently the stand out performers of the show. Johnny is a real talent who I think Craig is a tad jealous of.
He keeps on say Johnny is a favourite of the judges and the one to beat.
I was upset for Nerida that she choked so badly on her haute couture dress. I am sure her former teachers were also choking as she announced she did not know what haute couture was. Clearly not on the fashion school curriculum anymore. Dylan was criticised for recycling ideas but he got through.
For people thinking of going on a reality TV show, take note of Matcho Suba whose personality and european extravaganza mantra got him through to the top five. His designs were appalling. He single handedly was trying to bring chiffon back into vogue. He only did two decent designs the whole time he was on the show. One was in the retro challenge when he was paired with Craig, and the other was the resort wear challenge.
Anyway he will be the only one remembers from Season Three Project Runway.

Project Runway Australia – What Happened To The Ending?
Twitter was all in a flap last night about Project Runway Australia, where the editing missed the ending and went straight into next weeks preview? Did anyone else get effected by this?
