Guest Post: Married At First Sight

Maz has kindly sent in a guest post for the final episode of Married At First Sight – sorry just saw it, but very much appreciated.

Over to Maz:

With only seven days left in a really bad Mills and Boon social experiment the audience sighs with relief as evidence emerges that Lachlan’s dog made it out of Clare’s apartment alive.

After yet another row, Lachlan heads for the hills leaving Clare sobbing that ‘Lachlan is the most important person in my life.’  Really, we didn’t see much evidence of that last week when you prioritised painting of a door over a nephew’s birthday party.

Needless to say (prompted by the producers), Clare drives out to the farm to save their relationship(and hand fees some cows).

For light relief, we then cut to Alex doing the whole innocent in the Big Smoke act.  According to Twitter Fern Tree Gully is only 37km from the CBD…Not being Victorian we don’t get the nuance the producers are trying  imply with this storyline.  We do learn that parking is $5.50 per hour and it allows Alex to quipped upon inspecting Zoe’s minimalist bedsit , “Were you robbed or something?” and upon exiting NGA “It felt so good walking out of there”.

Here is a piece of trivia Roni,  he just isn’t into you.  With a $200 relationship voucher and pack of UNO cards, Michael who has all the charisma of an extra in Silent Witness admits that  he does not ‘love her’.  Then it gets weird.   Roni on exiting the relationship (sorry, “learning through the process to be empowered to leave a relationship”) removes her ring  to which Michael takes umbrage(maybe too strong a word)  telling Roni, “I’ve still got mine on but I was just thinking of wearing it on my other hand though.  It’s a bit of a memory I guess.” Okaaaaaaaay then.

Like all good dating reality programs at some stage we have to meet the in-laws and the producers suddenly remember they have a forth couple (Spoilers, sweetie!).

We’re late, we’re late for a very important date seemed to be the conversation had between James and Michelle on the way to Canberra.  James’s mood darken further when his mother broke the news the farm had been sold, “You could put a little smile on your face son.”

Clare in the interim had a rare moment of self awareness, “There’s obviously something wrong with me.” The latest tantrum caused by Lachlan not wanting to exchange DNA samples  in front of his mum.

Finally, Zoe (not in Stepford wife mode), Alex and his parents while away an afternoon with a ride on Puffing Billy and a sausage sizzle taking conversational cues from the producers.

With one episode to go, can we observe that the relationship ‘experts’ did a crap job.  Some of the participants have issues which will not be resolved by being in a relationship. #justsaying.

The Winner Of Best Reality Show At The Logies Is…..

The Block has won the Most Popular Reality TV Program again at this year’s TV Week Logies Award. Channel NINE also won the Most Outstanding  Entertainment Program with The Voice Australia.

The popular awards are voted by the public and the outstanding programs are voted by their peers.

The Living Room won the most popular Lifestyle Program, so congratulations to Amanda, Barry and the gang.

However the most amusing part of the long winded ceremony was when Julia Morris forgot to read out the nominees. If you missed it you can see it here.

She recovered from her gaffe very well and people are calling for her to host the ceremony next year.

Also Carrie Bickmore won the Gold Logie as well as a Silver Logie, so I bet she is glad she booked a baby sitter for the night. She looked stunning on the red carpet and she was on trend for the night as it appeared to be all about the cleavage for the women.
