Megan Gale Is Having A Baby!

It seems like this is the time of year for reality stars to announce engagements and pregnancies. Megan Gale took to instagram to announce she is having a baby with her boyfriend AFL player Shaun Hampson.

The Botox List Babes Are Hitting Back But Is It Time The Word Bully Was Used In The Correct Context?

Just because you are offended does not mean you were bullied.

As expected being named on the most botox Australian’s list has ruffled a few feathers, because let’s face it is not as flattering as Who Magazine’s annual most beautiful list.

Megan Gale who did not make the top ten list but was named as being someone that may have had work done has hit out on twitter responding to the article saying probably quite correctly the plastic surgeon involved in the story was using them to promote himself.  She also denies having botox and saying these allegations are harmful to her brand and fair point.

However she also tweeted she likened this article to bullying. Really?

Charlotte Dawson in response to Megan Gale’s bullying tweet wrote:

I think it is time to reclaim the word bullying and use it in its proper context.

The definition of offended is

  1. To cause displeasure, anger, resentment, or wounded feelings in

The definition of bullying is repeated verbal, physical, social or psychological behaviour that is harmful and involves the misuse of power by an individual or group towards one or more persons. Or bullying can be defined as using superior strength or influence to intimidate (someone), typically to force him or her to do what one wants.

Not sure how a lightweight article  about botoxed celebrities fits into the bullying category.

If you are insulted it does not mean you were bullied.

This use of the word bully by celebrities or others at times when they are offended or insulted actually diminishes what the term means and the ramifications for people being  being bullied in the workplace, school yard, online or at home.

If Reality Ravings made the 10 most boring blogs in Australia list I would be insulted, pissed off and disagree, but I won’t have been bullied.

Unfortunately being a celebrity does have a down side and one aspect of this is having their looks and appearance dissected as we are peddled images of them on red carpets  and advertisements daily as they promote themselves, endorsements, show and books etc.  In the age of cosmetic interventions this issue inevitably comes up.

Just because your feelings were hurt does not mean you were bullied.

The doctor has now apologised to both of them in today’s News Limited papers. I was amused that the papers don’t apologise about the article being there in the first place….

Both Megan and Charlotte should just be thankful they did not make the creepiest celebrities list which is on News.com.au today and seriously most people forget about these articles once they have read them.

Australia’s Next Top Model To Return in 2013

Australia’s Next Top Model after a year’s hiatus will be back in 2013, but possibly at the expense of Project Runway Australia.

TV Tonight reports Foxtel has commissioned Cycle 8 of Australia’s Next Top Model -and they heard Megan Gale is the hot tip to host. Previous rumour of host have included Miranda Kerr and Nicole Trunfio.

TV Tonight also says an announcement about host and judges should occur in the next two weeks.

Auditions! Auditions!

Project Runaway Australia is ready to set off on a new search for our nation’s next big fashion designers in the upcoming fourth season, hosted by supermodel Megan Gale. Applications are now open online here.

The contestant call is also sent out for the new season of Beauty and the Geek Australia, the social experiment helping girls be more than just beautiful, and awkward men to woo them. I currently study at the University of Technology, Sydney, and last year, geeky guys and pretty girls were being signed up to the show on my campus. I had to stop and take another look when a Beauty and the Geek casting stall was set up at my uni. I wonder if that’ll happen again this year? Hopefully, I’ll remember to take pics this time! (the line wasn’t long when I passed it). Apply as a geek or beauty here!

Meanwhile, registrations for The X Factor Australia are still going. The dates and details for applying are here in realityraver’s post and here on the official website.

I can’t sew and I’m not awkward or extremely interested in pretty girls, so I can’t say I’m that keen on trying out for the first two shows! But if I can gather a few friends for The X Factor Australia audition, it’ll hopefully be fun! (And better than my Australian Idol experience a few years back).

Yet, nothing would get me more thrilled than the auditions announcement for the return of Big Brother Australia! Stay up to date with their official Nine website, twitter account @bbau9 and Facebook page for the first whispers!

A few weeks ago, I was mislead to excitement when they tweeted something along the lines of: “The wait will soon be over! Auditions coming soon!” – but then I haven’t heard anything since. And checking back on their page, that tweet has been deleted. Strange?!

Let me know which reality shows you would audition for, even if they’re not looking for contestants at the moment!

Project Runway Australia Season 3 Preview

Good news for Project Runway Australia fans, with news the third season will kick of on Monday July 4 on Arena TV at 8.30pm.

There is a whole new cast. The show will  be hosted by Megan Gale, with Alex Perry as mentor.

I don’t know how Alex Perry is juggling his workload, as Australia’s Next Top Model is currently filming as well. He also has his fashion design commitments and last week I read he was designing an apartment complex in Brisbane.

Fashion designer Kirrily Johnston is a new judge, as well as industry expert Jarrad Clark.

Clark’s experience spans working with the major creative heads in fashion, Australia and worldwide, as the Global Event Production Director of IMG Fashion.

And we have the names of the contestants.

Five designers from New South Wales; Anthony AllarsDylan CooperJohnny SchembriNerida Bourne and Rachael Perks, four designers from Victoria; Claire Hocking,Craig BraybrookGabrielle Stephens and Matcho Suba and three designers from Western Australia; Anna McEachranAmanda McKenna and Timothy Godbold will battle it out for first prize.

Also expect to see Collette DinniganCamilla FranksDannii Minogue and  Carla Zampatti, as guest judges.

Cannot wait – this is one of the best Australian reality TV show produced. By the looks of the preview it looks like again the production values are high.

Also if you know any of the contestants email me or make a comment and tell us about them.
