It is about time So You Think You Can Dance Australia returned to our screens so hopefully the rumours in the Daily Telegraph about Sarah Murdoch hosting a new series on TEN this year are true.

At the moment there are no dance reality TV shows on our screens. Fox 8 have announced Got To Dance more times than Carl Scully announced the Parramatta to Chatswood rail link, and we know what happened to that!

Basically I will not believe Got To Dance has got the green light until it is on my screen.

So You Think You Can Dance Australia should be a ratings winner for TEN as it has been a few years since it was last seen on our screens and a new batch of talent will be ready to audition.

Sarah Murdoch who has a knowledge of dance will make a great host, and really she has the runs on the board to be able to easily handle the live shows.

Also I would only keep Matt Lee as judge from the first incarnation, he really hit his straps in the final series giving good critical advice that the viewers who are non-dancers could understand. Also he has the recent experience as a professional dance and performer in his recent role in Mary Poppins.

Also after Jason Coleman’s turn on Celebrity Apprentice Australia, he kind of damaged his brand and came across as a egomaniac. Also I found him to be saying the same thing series after series. And well I have nothing to say about Bonnie Lythgoe that was just wrong.

So fingers crossed we see So You Think You Can Dance Australia back on TEN in 2012.

Sarah Murdoch has stood down from hosting Australia’s Next Top Model. This is not going to stop rumours circulating that she is joining the new Channel Ten’s new breakfast show.

There was no announcement on who is going to replace her. Some possibilities to host would be promoting Charlotte Dawson from judge to host, Megan Gale, Elle Macpherson.

I know they like to have a model in the role, but if Nicole Ritchie is out here with her husband Joel Madden for The Voice what about trying to tee her up?

Who would you like to see in the hosting role of Australia’s Next Top Model?

After Granada was dumped by Foxtel to produce  Australia’s Next Top Model because of what is now known as the finale fuck up, Shine Australia has now been given the gig.

This will keep the show in the family as Sarah Murdoch is Executive Producer of the show and Shine is owned by her sister-in-law.

Having said that I am not going to call nepotism on this one, as Shine Australia has shown to be producing some quality TV shows since they started in Australia.

Auditions for the new season are expected to start next month, there has been no news on if there will be any cast changes. (Source: Sunday Telegraph)

A reader, Fontana,  had taken this snap shot of the Harpers Bazaar website and sent it to me, and it shows that Amanda Ware’s front cover was put up on the site yesterday at 4.51pm.

Now wasn’t voting continuing well into the live show last night which started at 7.30pm? If this is true the voting was not as close as they were saying.

Also Fontana said

Didn’t anyone notice during the original announcement of the winner (see early part of video footage) that on the large screen behind the stage, there was a large Harpers Bazaar magazine front cover featuring AMANDA.

Host of Australia’s Next Top Model, Sarah Murdoch gave birth has  given birth her and Lachlan’s third child, a girl at 6.27pm tonight in Sydney. They have Aerin Elisabeth Murdoch at 6.27pm tonight in Sydney.

Hopefully she will have a few weeks off before she has to go to work on the next series on the show.

Congratulations to the family.

With auditions for the sixth series of Australia’s Next Top Modelabout to start the question is whether host Sarah Murdoch going to do a Heidi Klum? Heidi Klum the host of the US version of Project Runway has made it an art form of popping out a baby and looking super slim hosting the TV show just minutes later. Sarah is pregnant with her third child which is due in April around the time of the live finale. Expect Sarah Murdoch, to look fabulous and give all new mums self esteem problems (unintentionally) in May as she announces the upcoming seasons winner. 

Anyway if you are interested in auditioning this is what you need to know – entrants must be Australian females aged over 16 years of age and 172cm tall and over.

Sarah Murdoch the new host of Australia’s Next Top Model says that her aim is to find a plus size superstar model.

In an article in the Daily Telegraph Mrs Murdoch said:

“I am really pushing for a plus-size model this series because I am a big
believer in healthy body types and encouraging girls to be the right body type,”
the Bonds ambassador said.
“It’s not about getting an overweight girl but
someone who is healthy because one size doesn’t fit all.”

America’s Next Top Model has had plus size contestants on the show for quite a few seasons. On the season currently being screened on Fox 8, plus size model Whitney is staying in the competition just by her fake fingernails.

A plus size model is not really fat, but is of ‘normal’ body shaped and they model plus sized clothes. Needless to say there is a big market in the US for them.

It will be interesting see how far a plus sized model will be able to go in the Australian series. It would be hilarious if they won as Kirstie Clements would have to give her a photoshoot in Vogue. Quelle horror.

The auditions for the show commenced in Sydney yesterday, and Tim Brunero on Livenews has amusing interviews with some of the girls to auditioned at Westfield Parramatta.

I am sure there was some serious editing to make them ditsier than they actually are. Well I hope so.

Mark Holden Speaks Out Since Leaving Idol – He is working with the Hoff so that must be some compensation.

In an article on news.com.au Mark Holden breaks his silence about being sacked from Idol. It shows you can be dumped and behave with dignity. In other Mark Holden news he has asked Idol judges to donate $10,000 to a charity if they use the touch down phrase. Full story here.

Another uber model in Sarah Murdoch will take over the hosting duties on Australia’s Next Top Model. Sarah appears to have negotiated a better contract then Jodhi as she will also be a producer.
