The Amazing Race Casting Director Says It Is A Relationship Game Not A Race Around The World.
In an interview on Reality Blurred Lynne Spillman the casting director of The Amazing Race said she casts on the strength of the stories of the relationship and how the race will test them.
“We want to know where they are, how their relationship is going to change on the race. You’ll see happy dating couples, but they’re usually at a crossroads of, you know, moving in together or getting engaged. You’ll see happily married couples but they’re a little bit in a slump or they’re about to retire. They always have a story where the Race is going to change something, and people don’t get that when they apply,” Spillman told me.
Also she will not cast Survivor cast members unless they have a high profile like Rob and Amber.

Thank you Idol for not making us sit through an hours TV before finding who the final two were.
Well the big surprise was Luke Dickens making it through to the Opera House. It is not undeserved he has barely put a foot wrong throughout the competition. Also it also confirms my theory that having a town vote for you gives you an advantage.
And the best thing about Wes getting through was seeing his ‘life story’. Wes performing as kid was very funny and cute. One of Wes’s attributes is his vulnerability.
The two both have different but interesting stories. Luke has the fairytale story of a hard working shearer who only sang for the first time in front of an audience last year and is now one week from becoming famous.
Whilst Wes’s story is the hard working, talented muso who has gigged for years but never got that break. He was just about to give it up but then decided to audition for Idol, and went from playing for ten people to over a 1 million via the tv set.
Or maybe it will just be a battle of the beards.
They sang their winner songs and now it is up to us to vote.
It will be interesting to see if Natalie Gauci will be singing at the Opera House or will she go in the forgotten Idol box along with Kate D’Arrugo, and Casey Donovan.
November 17, 2008 Comments Off on Australian Idol – It’s Wes Carr and Luke Dickens
Livewire write that the odds are that Luke Dickens is set for the punt tonight. This won’t happen if the Young media have anything to do with it.
The Young newspaper has been promoting Luke each week. Obviously looking for a new angle they have an interview with Luke’s sister Emma. She says that Luke has only just started singing in front of people. I am sure he will inspire a few other amateurs to try out for next year’s show. Article is here.

Wade Robson To Teach Two Day Workshops At Carriage Works in Sydney on the 11 and 12 of November.
Wade Robson who has choreographed some of the most amazing routines on the US version of So You Think You Can Dance will be in Sydney next with his wife Amanda to teach two day workshops at Carriageworks.
He will also be doing a two day workshop in Melbourne on the 8 and 9 of November at the Mercure.
Personally I think they will be amazing as his style is so original. Wade is Australian but went to the US at a young age as he was discovered by Michael Jackson.
However Michael is not the only troubled superstar he has worked with, as Britany Spears has asked him to choreograph her new world tour. He previously choreographed her shows when she was an up and coming performer.
Wade Robson (Right)
Ticket for his workshops can be bought at Ticketmaster and are $148.50 for a two day pass. Personally I think this is great value.

Is This The Biggest Non Story About Demelza Reveley Ever???
Now I am not the greatest fan of Demelza, but this story on News.com.au appears to be the biggest non story ever.
They say that in a period where Aussie models like Alice Burdeau and Myf Shepherd are the toast of the International catwalks Demelza was forced to stay home. Her agent Priscilla Leighton-Clark, also a judge on Australia’s Next Top Model said Demelza was “not ready”. However in good news for Demelza as agents in New York love her and Priscilla will send her when “she can cope.”
I am not sure what they are trying to say in the article, another dig perhaps?
