Back to Reality on Arena

Fashion stylist Brad Goreski has his eye on Hollywood in Arena’s premiere of It’s a Brad Brad World this Wednesday at 9.30pm. Best known as Rachel Zoe’s former assistant on Bravo’s The Rachel Zoe Project, he was given his own show after parting ways with Rachel and has denied claims of stealing her clients.

It’s a Brad Brad World follows Brad’s new business venture as he tries to get his clients red-carpet ready in the space of his garage. The all-access show will see him struggle to balance work and his home life with boyfriend, Gary. Will his dreams of making it big come true in the cut-throat world of fashion styling?

Brad lists big celebs like Jessica Alba and Christina Ricci on his clientele, but Arena also has some big names coming back to air this February! Headlining their new seasons, Heidi Klum and Tori Spelling are back in Arena’s reality TV slate.

Heidi returns next week with the highly anticipated season 9 of Project Runway on Monday, February 20 at8.30pm. Also back are judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia and style guru Tim Gunn who are all set for another thrilling season and the long line of celebrity guest stars, including Kim Kardashian, Zoe Saldana, Christina Ricci, Adam Lambert and Australia’s own Rose Byrne.

Premiering in the same week, Tori & Sean: Home Sweet Hollywood returns with its 6th season on Wednesday, February 22 at 8.30pm. This season sees the couple deal with more business and family affairs, as they’re expecting a third child and the opening of their antique and furniture store appropriately named ‘invenTORI’. And with their acting careers and busy lifestyles, can they do it all under the Hollywood spotlight? Follow Tori and Dean on Arena to find out.

It’s a Brad Brad World premieres this Wednesday, February 15 at 9.30pm.
Project Runway season 9 premieres Monday, February 20 at 8.30pm.
Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood season 6 premieres Wednesday, February 22 at 8.30pm.

Project Runway Mentor Tim Gunn Has Not Had Sex In 29 Years

This blog post was requested as a stand alone post rather then as a part of Reality Tidbits, which says a lot about what my readers want to discuss.

Tim Gunn the lovely and not unattractive mentor on Project Runway has revealed that he has not had sexual relations in 29 years. Yes  folks that is nearly three decades. It is not for any political reasons like wanting to save himself for marriage but it has not been legal for him to do so.

Dlisted writes that Tim Gunn revealed on his TV show that he had not had any horizontal or non-horizontal action for 29 years by his own choice.

Tim Gunn revealed:

“I haven’t had sex in 29 years. Do I feel like less of a person for it? No. Not even remotely.

It’s very personal. I was in a very intense relationship for a long time. And my partner ended it, saying that, quite frankly, he was impatient with my sexual performance.

I’m a perfectly fulfilled person, but it’s very physiological. I have feelings. It’s not as though I’m some barren forest. I don’t want to imply to anyone that I have a mandate that says no sex. I don’t. I don’t know what’s around the corner.”

It is not unusual for people to not have sex for up to 20 years but that is because it is illegal for the first 16 years of our lives, obviously the ex-boyfriend was emotionally abusive. Tim Gunn deserves a nice guy who do you think he should hook up with?

Arena TV Is Rocking It With Reality TV In September

I am seriously hoping to catch the ebola virus for the month of September by the look of what Arena has got on its programming next month.

Top Chef Washington will premiere on Sunday at 7.30pm on the 12 September.  The luscious Padma Lakshmi and hunky Tom Colluchio are returning as hosts of this cooking competition where professional chefs battle it out for the title of Top Chef. If you like Masterchef you will love this. In fact quite a few aspects of the Australian version of Masterchef are taken from Top Chef. Well that is my opinion and I am sticking to it.

Project Runway Season 7 will see the crew returning to New York. This will premiere on September 13, Mondays at 8.30pm. Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn, Michael Kors and Neeeeeeeennna Garcia are all returning. This will have to help us get over that there won’t be an Australian version of the show this year.

Models of the Runway, will again follow it on September 13, Mondays at 9.30pm. This is a companion series to Project Runway, which follows the models on the show. I hope they continue to keep it to a half hour show, as this got a bit tedious once all the nuttier models were eliminated last season.

And also one of my favourite reality shows Celebrity Rehab with Dr Drew Pinsky returns for it third season on September 16 at 9.30pm. This is not the Rachael Uchitel one which is currently filming but the series has celebrities Dennis Rodman, Heidi Fleiss, Joey Kovar, Kari Anne Peniche, Lisa D’Amato, Mackenzie Phillips, Mike Starr, Mindy McCready and Tom Sizemore going through an intensive 21-day detox and treatment program.

All-new to Arena is Launch My Line where celebrities will design, cut and stitch their way through a one-of-a-kind creative competition to determine who has the vision to go from icon to fashion star and launch a trendsetting clothing label.

Premiering September 8, Wednesdays at 8.30pm, the celebrity contestants will each be paired with a fashion expert, who will supply the technical know-how to implement the celebrity’s creative vision.

Most of the time I am a bit dubious of reality shows with celebrities in them, Celeb Rehab being the exception, but this is from the Bravo stable which I do worship at the altar of. So will give it a look even though the premise looks a bit spurious.

Another Bravo show that  Arena premiering on September 14, Tuesdays at 9.30pm, is 9 By Design. The series follows husband and wife design team, Bob and Cortney Novogratz and their seven children. Owners of New York based design firm, Sixx Design, this young, hip and artsy couple have developed and designed unique properties in Manhattan, rebuilt entire blocks in the city, and turned funky into fabulous with taste and confidence.

I hope this is more Top Design, than Kate and Jon Plus 8.

Top Chef Washington DC To Start In September

Good news for all those people wanting another foodie reality TV show to watch. Top Chef Washington DC will premiere on 12 September on Arena.

Other shows starting on Arena in September are Project Runway the US version on the 13 September, and Celebrity Rehab Season three on the 16th.

Celebrity Rehab looks to be a cracker as it will have Heidi Fleiss, Tom Sizemore, Mackenzie Phillips and Dennis Rodman.

Casting for Season 4 of the show also looks interesting with Tiger Wood’s former mistress Rachael Uchitel signing on, as well as Janice Dickinson (possibly for her addiction for being on reality shows?) and Leif Garrett.

The Wait Is Over Project Runway Is Coming Back On

Meryl Streep in a Chris March dress at the Oscars

The US series of Project Runway will be back on Arena next week, but before we see the new season set in Los Angeles, there will be a one off All-Star Challenge.

This will screen on Monday night on Arena at 8.30pm.

The Project Runway All-Star Challenge is as the name suggests is a mix of contestants from the previous seasons.

They are:

  • Mychael Knight - Season 3
  • Jeffrey Sebelia - Season 3
  • Uli Herzner – Season 3
  • Santino Rice – Season 2
  • Daniel Vosovic – Season 2
  • Chris March – Season 4
  • Korto Momolu – Season 5
  • Sweet P – Season 4

The winner of the challenge will take home $100,000. Not bad for a couple of days work.
