Reality Tidbits – Saturday Evening
Ajay Rochester’s New Idea Photos Were Provided By Her Already Photoshopped.
The Sydney Morning Herald Gossip Column revealed that this week’s New Idea cover photo of the former The Biggest Loser host was sent to the magazine by her. The story was about this amazing transformation she had made. New Idea apparently paid $15,000 for the story, but they never saw the unaltered shots of Ms Rochester. I find that amazing that they would not check out the bona fides.
Interview With Celebrity MasterChef Contestant Kathleen De Leon
Kathleen De Leon was very unlucky she did not win her heat on Celebrity MasterChef this week, she was beaten by Channel Ten celebrity Michelle Bridges. However the majority of readers in my current poll thought Kathleen should have won, as do I.hWho Mag has a article where she talks a little about Celebrity MasterChef, and also about what she is currently up to.
Fantastic Interview With Top Chef Master Chef, Rick Bayless.
Rick Bayless was one of my favourites in the just finished series of Top Chef Masters. The Chicago Tribune has a fascinating article about him, and about his restaurants.
Australia’s Next Top Model Host Sarah Murdoch Is Pregnant.
Sarah Murdoch is pregnant with her third child, and it is due in April. She currently has two sons. No word whether the birth date will conflict with Next Top Model’s filming schedule. Though Heidi Klum was back at Project Runway after the birth of one of her kids. By the way I am not saying that I recommend that for Sarah.
Kristy Hinze Having a Glamourous 30th Birthday Bash In Palm Springs
Speaking of pregnant wife’s of billionaires, Kristy Hinze has been on the record saying she wants to have babies with her new husband Jim Clark. However, at this stage there is no public news on that front. What she is having is a fabulous party at Palm Springs to celebrate her 3oth birthday. It will have a Rio Carnivale theme, so expect everyone to turn up in a g-string with a fascinator on their heads. (Source news.com.au)

Reality Tidbits – Including Elimination Interviews
Elimination Interview With Aaron from MasterChef Australia.
Here is the link to TV Week’s interview . He says the show gave him a reality check on food and life in general.
Elimination Interviews With Laura From Australia’s Next Top Model
Who Magazines interview with Laura as very interesting. You could interpret it as sour grapes. She is particularly harsh about “mentor” Johnathan Pease.
She says “I felt that he was giving us criticism that wasn’t overly constructive it was just like, yes you’re doing well, no you’re not doing well – but if you’re not doing well he wouldn’t say do this instead. Do you know what I mean?”.
I tend to agree you rarely see him give useful advice, but I thought that might be the editing.
Here is her interview with TV Week. Laura is pure interviewing gold I love this quote : “In terms of the TV side of things, filming everything four times over, it wasn’t as reality TV as I thought it would be.”
HomeMADE - Elimination Interview with Matt
I have to confess I am yet to watch the episode as I prioritised the season finale of Gossip Girl ahead of it. And for those who want to know the Divine Chuck Bass did tell Blair he loved her. Anyway Matt in the interview with TV Week says that it appears to be the untrained designers who are left in the show.
Here is the Daily Telegraph article which confirms the show is not long in the Sunday 6.30pm timeslot.

Australia’s Next Top Model Severs Ties With Vogue Australia
A new host is not the only change of this season’s Australia’s Next Top Model, as Harper’s Bazaar and Cosmopolitan will take over from Vogue Australia as the magazine represented in the show. The Sunday Tele gossip column (scroll down the article) states the split could have occurred because they did not put Demelza Reveley last year’s winner on the cover as they did with Alice Burdeau. However I think this is bollocks as Alice was the first winner ever to be put on the cover and there was never any expectation that other winners would get this honour.
Head Judge For Interior Design Show Home Made Announced.
Belle magazine editor-in-chief Neale Whitaker has joined the team on Nine’s lifestyle reality series Home Made. It is thought his role will be as head judge. Similar to that of Johnathan Adler of Arena’s Top Design. Sorry I should not have mentioned those shows in the same post as apparently they are going to be completely different. Each show is about interior designers competing to design different spaces and a designer is eliminated each week.
The producers Julian Cress and David Barbour of The Block fame, look like they are on a winner with this show. Also they always have high production values. David Heimann, proprietor of Orson & Blake will be the host.
Masterchef Australia – Another Melbourne Chef/Judge Announced.
As a Sydneysider I am about to crawl into a dark corner and curl into the feotal position with shame. Matt Preston a chef from Melbourne has been announced as the third judge to join the other two chefs from Melbourne Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris. Just a minor snipe why no female judge? Are there no good female televisual chefs in Australia?
The show is currently in pre-production and carrying out auditions throughout Australia.
Project Runway Australia Season 2 – Applications Are Now Open.

Kristy Hinze Is Marrying A Billionaire And She Is Buying Cheap Woolies Sausages For A BBQ???
For god sakes Jim Clarke please give your fiancee, Project Runway Australia’s host Kristy Hinze a black AMEX card.
Here she is with shopping carrying the el cheapo sausages from Woolworths. Did she serve them up at her engagement party in Sydney the other night?
She could have at least gotten the Woolies organic ones, or the Peppercorn Gourmet types. Or for a much better solution sent a minion to Pinos in Kogarah for some quality snags.
The Herald Sun has further details on her engagement party.

Author Kathy Lette Using Gordan Ramsay’s Philandering To Promote New Book.
Popular author Kathy Lette has been opportunistically using the reality TV chef’s philandering on his wife Tania to promote her book. She has sent her book To Love Honour and Betray (Til Divorce Us Do Part).
And has said Lette said she believed Tana Ramsay was handling the crisis the wrong way.
“I don’t think she should be doing that whole standing-by-my-man routine,” Lette said.
“When you have made your entire fortune from perpetuating the myth of being the ultimate family man … it’s hypocrisy.”

Kristy Hinze Furthering Her Education
In the Daily Telegraph it reveals the Project Runway host is furthering her education by sitting for the SATs, which is the equivalent of the HSC. Kristy left school early to further her modelling career. A decision that paid dividends in the long run.
She must be very good at time management, as she has a busy career, a new fiancee to tend to, and million dollar houses to examine on Sydney Harbour. Full story here.

Kristy Hinze Has Some Serious Bling On Her Finger.

Is Kristy Hinze looking very happy because SMH The Guide critics voting Project Runway Australia the best reality TV show on TV in 2008 or the size of the rock on her finger?
The engagement ring that her billionaire fiancee Jim Clark gave her is huge, but I will leave it up to the three million wedding blogs out there to describe the cut and design of it.
They will be getting married in March in a three day fiesta in Palm Beach Florida.
Kristy Hinze is in Australia this week to shoot the winter campaign for Sportscraft, however she will be back next year to host season two of Project Runway Australia.

Kristy Hines To Get Married in March.
Kristy Hines, host of Project Runway Australia, is not going to muck a round with a long engagement. Apparently the invitations have been sent out for a three day wedding spectacular from March 18-20 in Palm Beach, Florida.
Here is an article where she talks about why she loves him so. There is no mention on whether they plan to have children. Congratulations to you both.
Channel Seven Has Apologised For Sonia Kruger’s ‘racist’ Comments.
Channel Seven has apologised unreservedly for Sonia Kruger’s distasteful comments to musical director Chong Lim on the television show Dancing With The Stars.
The network insisted the presenter’s remarks were not intended to be racist, especially as the pair enjoyed a long-standing friendship.
Kruger made the derogatory comments about a “sweatshop of illegal immigrants” slaving away on her wardrobe for the Melbourne Cup Carnival.
“Let’s just say there’s a sweatshop full of illegal immigrants working on them right now,” Kruger said before referring to Lim, the show’s Malaysian-born musical director.
“How’s the family, Chong? All right?”
Sonia this week refused to apologise about the remarks. Maybe she was just trying to highlight that Australian designers are known to have their clothes made in sweatshops where pay and conditions are bad…….Ok maybe not.

Natalie Bassingthwaite Admits Her First Audition For SYTYCD AU Sucked.
In an interview in the Sunday Telegraph “The Bass” says her first audition for the Australian version of SYTYCD was not great.
In the interview she reveals:
Because she tried to emulate the style and brash attitude of the successful American version of the show, her first audition, by her own admission, “sucked”.
“I did a terrible audition. I walked away thinking: ‘I’m really bad at this. Even if they want me to do it, I don’t think I can.”’
But Channel 10 programming boss David Mott invited her back for a second audition – and Bassingthwaighte won the job.
Natalie had mixed reviews for her hosting style this year, but she did improve by the end of the season. Lets hope this continues into the next year.
