Reality TV has proven it is not completely useless with a boy lost on a mountain saying he used skill learnt by watching reality TV programs to help him survive. Unfortunately watching over 6 months of Masterchef has not helped my cooking skills. (Source: ABC News)

Shania Twain has her own reality show. I quite liked her as a guest judge on American Idol, however I am not sure I could sit through her program. But in bizarre Shania news, she has now married the husband of the women her own husband ran off with. Confused? Yes so am I. (Source: Examiner.com)

Leif Garrett will be in Season 4 of Celebrity Rehab, this I am not surprised at. Leif was arrested with heroin early in 2010. However there is an article questioning the ethics of rehab reality TV programs and whether it is exploitative. I think they raise some interesting points, but I have to confess I really like Celebrity Rehab, not because it is trashy, but it does show how hideous an addiction can be. (Source: Dragon Paradox)

Gordon Ramsay held at gun point and doused in petrol in Costa Rica as part of his new show which shows the illegal shark trade. I think he may have done it for publicity purposes. Am I being harsh? (Source: Toronto Sun)

FYI my understanding is that JH wasn’t flicked by Myer …. just the G’Day USA Fashion Show because her demands were too great/costly. Myer blames her agent, not JH (apparently). But she is still under contract of face of Myer (not sure when contract ends).

CG – yes I was taking a egg beater to the story, I know she was flicked for that event, however I wonder if this will make her management pull their heads in. As there are only two department stores in Australia, and her contract is a lucrative one.

Happy new year hope you are having a good one.

Hey RR, another tidbit for you – solved the SYTYCD advertising on Channel 10 mystery. They will be screening season six (2009) of the US series on Eleven later this year.

Still wish they didn’t cancel SYTYCD Aus, although S3 was pretty crap, I admit.

I also heard a rumour that is was starting this friday on eleven but then the channel has not started airing yet.

I will contact Ten and find out what the story is. I suspect your info is closer to the truth than mine.
