Four Weddings – Emma Was Possibly The Foulest Bride Yet
Tonight was all about Emma who the only person who thought she wasn’t a bogan was herself. The positive thing about the 22 year old was she had healthy self esteem. The barmaid with the lived in face described her $40,000 wedding as modern elegance.
She obviously forgot to tell her groom about the theme. He who did not speak decided to do a body building exhibition at the reception. That’s modern elegance for you.
She was foul at everyones wedding and highly critical. Her lowest point was at Michelle’s “modern wog wedding” when she said she “was a leader not a follower” about not dancing at the 18 year old’s wedding when asked to.
Michelle who was Lebanese spent $58,000 on her very sparkly wedding, including $8000 on a original wedding dress. It had a lot of bling on it. She would have looked like a snarky cow as well but lucky she had Emma there to attract the viewers ire. She never explained why she wanted to get married at eighteen.
Emma criticised the church service, and generally decided she just was not going to enjoy herself.
I had liked Wendy up until that point but she proved to be not that nice either by just going along with whatever Emma was saying.
Wendy a 33 years old was having an DYI artist garden wedding theme. Even though she paid $20 for her dress her wedding is still costing her $20,000. But maybe the vintage bus she turned up in burned some of her cash. I thought the bells for guests to shake when they were declared man and wife was a nice touch.
Fiona a teacher who was the only pleasant one got married at Government House at Parramatta which cost $20,000. Emma criticised the car, the decorations, and the food. She said “It was noice for pub grub”. Classy.
Anyway anyone who believes in karma will be shocked to know Emma won the prize for the honeymoon to Vanuatu. As Fiona said she played the game and won.

Beauty And The Geek Australia On Seven From Thursday 22 September
Channel Seven is going to have a reality TV trashathon on Thursday nights with Beauty and The Geek kicking off at 8.30pm.
However the good news for Four Wedding fans this will also be on Thursday nights at 7.30pm – trashtastic.
There will be ten beauty’s and geeks vying for the $100,000 prize money.
Beauty and the Geek is in its third season and this year they have mixed it up by having a female geek, and therefore a male “beauty”.
Helen 26 year old is the female geek, and she has a double degree in Commerce and Science, she is hoping this experience will introduce her to more sporty and social skill pursuits. She feels uncomfortable in groups larger than two. It will be interesting how she finds the share house then.
The other geeks appear to have two things in common, facial hair and gaming. The geeks are:
Adam – 25 from Victoria, he is weather obsessed and a remote area meteorologist.
He has no relationship history to speak of, but believes he has never actually had the opportunity.
“It sort of feels a little like a monkey on my back – the more the monkey stays, the heavier it gets… like a football team never being able to win a premiership,” he says of his lacklustre love life.
However he can dance as he has won medals in Latin dancing.
Bendeguz – 21 from NSW does not see himself as a geek but just as a unique individual. He is currently studying a Bachelor of Arts in History. He likes to be immaculately dressed.
“The Interbellum period of the 1920s and 1930s in my eyes is the most vivid and dynamic period of humanity.”
This history buff is hoping to learn how to handle himself in front of what he believes is “the biological perfection”.
I think this is the geek everyone is going to love to hate.
Colin – 23 year old from Victoria is a Cambridge graduate.
Colin is hopeful of making a good first impression, but says he often struggles with the transition to a romantic relationship.
“The whole dating thing is not my bag,” he admits. “And quite frankly when I see someone who’s really beautiful, they kind of go into a sort of stereotype in my mind, then they become that stereotype of like a vapid blonde.
“While I can talk to women, I am always Mr Nice Guy and am immediately relegated to the Friend Zone. I would like to learn to be a more sexually-attractive individual.”
Gilbert – 19 year old from Victoria is currently studying a double degree in Science and mechanical engineering.
“They [Girls] regard me as a bit of a weirdo. But they’re my friends, so I guess, a lovable weirdo. I don’t have a very good history with girls, so I figured it might be a good opportunity to develop my skills, as it were, and just become a bit more of a confident person,” he says.
Jimmy – 26 year old is an IT support technician.
He was once dumped for being too boring, and ever since Jimmy’s been working on his confidence.
Julian – 25 year old is currently studying a PhD in molecular genetics and biochemistry looking at cholesterol homeostasis.
Confident and thoughtful, Julian has many female friends, but so far it hasn’t been effective in winning him a date.
“If there was a single girl who was interesting I would probably say immediately, ‘You are interesting, let’s go out’, which might not actually be socially wise or sensible.”
Lachlan – is 22 year old from Queensland, he is studying law.
Lachlan’s interests include constitutional law and politics, and he enjoys visiting state and federal parliament in his spare time to watch Question Time.
Describing his ideal life partner as “someone who is emotionally stable – and hot”, Lachlan says he hopes to gain some confidence through his Beauty.
“I’ve built up this wall in my head where I think that people I’m attracted to, or attractive girls, are somehow different to anyone else. But I need to just take that leap, and just sort of have that wall knocked down.”
Nathan – is a 19 year old from South Australia, he is currently studying a double degree in commerce and applied finance. He has never been kissed. He loves gaming.
Theo – is 23 year old from NSW he is a mathematician.
“I’ve never figured out how to actually start a conversation with the opposite sex,” he explains. “I don’t know how to talk to girls. It would be great if I could figure out how to talk to girls.”
The son of a doctor and an alternative medicine therapist, Theo says he always grew up around intelligent people.
“I’ve never known anyone who’s academically-challenged. I don’t know how to relate to them.
“And well, intellect’s done nothing for me in terms of love. It’s seems to abandon me, frankly.”
The Beauty’s are:
Darlene – 22 year old from the Northern Territory. She is a Casino hostess and has modelled.
“I don’t label people because I’ve been labelled my entire life,” she admits. “I think everyone just sees me and they think, ‘Oh, she’s gonna be such a stuck up cow.’ But really, I’m not.”
Dolly – 21 year old from Queensland wanting a career in hair and beauty.
“In life in general, I’d say being beautiful has helped me because, you know, I probably wouldn’t have a job if didn’t look like this. I’ve made money off of the way I look and that makes me want to maintain it as well.”
Emma - 21 year old from Queensland is the reigning 2011 Miss FHM. Emma is used to being the centre of attention. But within her own family this receptionist is actually the odd one out when it comes to academics – her brother is an architect and her sister a teacher.
Gaia – 19 years old from WA is a part time nanny. She is hoping for some intellectual stimulation from her beauty and geek experience.
“I love shopping and all that sort of stuff but hopefully out of this I can find something deeper to be interested about,” she says. “Like more of a less superficial kind of interest.”
Jacelle – 20 year old was meter maid on the Gold Coast, she is now a trainee barmaid. “I can talk to anyone. It doesn’t matter who they are as I don’t judge,” she says.
Jordan – 20 year old from NSW is a NRL Tigers Cheerleader. She is open to love.
“I’ve always been attracted to muscles and looks and I’ve always had my heart broken, so you never know. I’ve never really gotten close to a nerd to be honest. My door isn’t shut; it’s open. So we’ll see,” she says.
Mackenzie – 21 year old from WA.
Perth-born, daddy’s girl Mackenzie admits to being a shopaholic, wearing dresses only once and shoes just five times before replacing them.
“I’m obsessed with clothes and shoes,” she says. “I love my shoes. Every time I wear them I wash them, clean them and spray them.”
This covergirl describes her style as ‘classy rock chick’ and hopes she’ll be able to teach her geek to take pride in his appearance.
“I’m very open with what doesn’t look good so I think I’m going to be good with guidance.”
The geeks might not be prepared for her who says she doesn’t often feel disappointed in life.
“I tend to get everything I want so I don’t usually get disappointed. Such a vain comment, but it’s just the truth,” she says.
I think this will be the beauty we love to hate.
Maddy – 20 year old from NSW is a dance teacher.
“I do competitive cheerleading like ‘Bring It On’ stuff. It’s like lots of tumbling, lots of throwing in the air. You get muscles from it. No-one believes me. Everyone thinks it’s running around with pom poms but it’s totally not that at all.”
Sarah – 20 years old from NSW, she does promotional work and has been modelling since she was 12 years old. She is obsessed with leopard print.
Troy – is the 21 year old male beauty. He is single and a personal trainer. He says one of his biggest skills is helping people connect, and he hopes to weave some magic if there are any shy housemates.
When he’s not surfing the waves, Troy also works as a model and has dabbled in labouring work as well. But he knows looks aren’t everything.
“It doesn’t matter how good looking you are, you’ve got to get along with everyone,” he says.
Beauty and the Geek again looks like it is going to be highly entertaining. The show will be hosted again. by Bernard Curry.
Beauty and The Geek on Channel Seven from Thursday 22 September at 8.30pm.

Four Weddings – These Weddings Cannot Be Real
Where do they get these brides from? They cannot be real. In fact someone tweeted me to say Ingrid was trending on Twitter. Quite a feat for a person who is on one episode of a TV show.
The episode was all Ingrid a bridezilla who had an opinion, usually negative about everything.
Ingrid seems like a complete Bridezilla and was having a venetian style wedding. She was very peeved when she realised Belynda (no that is not a typo) was having a magician as well.
First up was Tamika’s wedding. She was 21 years of age. She is a receptionist by day and a country and western singer by night.
Tamika’s dress was like a dress on my daughters Barbie dolls. However Barbie does not have the 17 inch high tiara to accessorise with. Her bridal party consisted of about 100 people. Ingrid who considers herself a classy girl thought it was “bogan city” and that was before the wedding even started.
Ingrid also thought she looked like a tranny. One of the reasons Tamika must have gone on the show was to try and promote her singing career. Quite cannily to ensure she got her singing into the episode she sang to her husband the wedding vows. Ingrid who is apparently a song writer thought it wasn’t a well written song.
Kathleen also thought it was a bit bogan, and that was interesting coming from someone who is a bit bogan herself.
She also thought the reception room was like her granddad’s shed. Personally I liked the venue, though the food looked ordinary.
Ingrid’s wedding was quite nice. All the girls liked her dress and the car. However there was very little warmth from her to the groom.
She was another one who decided to sing badly. Hopefully she won’t have started a trend.
Belynda (yes that is not a typo), was having a Mission Impossible theme. She is a bingo caller. She got braces on her teeth to straighten them prior to the wedding.
She did look lovely. Ingrid was having difficulty finding something wrong with the wedding. One criticism was the fish was too fishy, also she thought the magician tricks were joke store ones.
Kathleen is 23 years old and is studying to be a primary school teacher. She said her groom was a bit of a bum. She really had nothing good to say about her partner. She was paying $3000 for her dress and it didn’t really produce a moment. I was perplexed that she was sitting in the reception room complaining the wedding was 30 minutes behind schedule, why didn’t she go out to the bar where her guests were.
Karl appeared to not have much input into the wedding, as he did not like soup which was the entree, nor did Kathleen know that he didn’t like soup. I doubt this union will last.
The winner of the honeymoon was uncontroversial it was Belynda from Newcastle who won.

Four Weddings – Did The Best Wedding Win?
Four Weddings is back for a second season, this was the surprise hit of the reality TV shows of last year, because when it comes to weddings it bring out the bitch in us.
The premise of the show is there are four weddings, and the brides go to each others ones and score them, rating the dress, ceremony, food, and reception. The person with the highest score wins a luxury honeymoon.
This is cost Channel Seven barely anything to make but last year it was rating very well.
Tonight we had Amy 21 who was having the huge Lebanese wedding, Tanya who was having the Lord of The Flies theme wedding, Brae who was producing her own wedding, and Jules who won her wedding by sumo wrestling six other brides to be.
Baeu’s wedding was first. She was an event manager and Tom looks exhausted before he even got down the aisle and sighed “I deserve this honeymoon”.
Her surprise was having Justice Crew perform and the groom and his grooms men joining in at the end.
She does seem to talk about it as a production. By the end of it I thought did she love him? However once the wedding started they did look like they were, and they also seemed to have a lot of fun.
The dress was a bit like a mermaid, I had to agree with the other contestants it had no stand out feature. The reception was at Darling Harbour. Jules did not think the reception space had no wow factor. Jules is a bit of a boganette, and quite frankly I don’t think a person who won a wedding by sumo wrestling is a arbiter of class. This was compounded by the fact she had only had smoked salmon in a can! I think she is thinking of just plain salmon. Brae’s wedding cost $50,000.
Tanya who was the loveliest of the brides was marrying a movie buff, and hence the Lord of The Rings theme. In her optimism she thought Gollum as a ringbearer would get her over the line. Big mistake. It was weird, funny, but weird and did go on a bit too long. However the Gollum character may get approached for other performances after being on the show. Her wedding cost $20,000.
I thought the other girls were a bit scabby on what they scored her wedding dress. I thought it suited her and the wedding. Also a special shout out must go to the cake which was designed as the castle/town from the movie. It looked a particularly unappetising colour of grey.
Jules the swim wear model won her wedding by sumo wrestling nine other brides to win their wedding and reception at the Newcastle Jockey Club. The hubby was a horse trainer. Even winning the major part of her wedding it still cost her $10,000. Jules was little bit of bogan she didn’t like a lot of the food at the other weddings, and if she wasn’t getting married I would have suggested she audition for The Beauty and The Geek. Having said that her reception did look like a lot of fun, and I did tear up as they said her foster father was walking her down the aisle, so obviously she hasn’t had a childhood like Pollyanna.
I did crack up at the “horse race” at the end and Jules looked like she was having a hoot of a time. Her husband just looked pissed as he was when he turned up in the hummer with his mates.
Special shout out to foster parents they do a great job. Now that public service announcement is over lets get on with the sniping.
Amy is 21 and was having a huge Lebanese wedding with over 560 people invited, I note all of them didn’t make it to the ceremony but just turned up for the reception. Her budget was over $60,000.
Her dress was what I would call the dress with the lot. It had meringue, feathers, sparkles, beading, diamantes and sequins, and God knows what else. It wasn’t a catastrophe and she looked beautiful, and I thought the other girls could have given her a few more points. What let her down was the other three were not used to the length or noise of a Lebanese wedding, and no doubt it got very boring.
Jules said she only knew one Lebanese word and that was tabbouleh – I doubt she had eaten it. Also the food was not that great if the ravioli was anything to go by.
It was time for the judging and I was surprised when Baeu’s husband stepped from the limo to claim the holiday. With this show sometimes the best person doesn’t win. Also with Baeu’s low scoring of the others this helped to get her over the line?
What did you think of the weddings, the brides, the dresses?

Four Weddings – Season Two To Premier On Seven In August
Four Weddings with Fifi Box as host was one of the surprise packages of the reality TV landscape last year. It rated well with probably not that much cash outlay from SEVEN so a big win for them.
Each episode of FOUR WEDDINGS features four competitive and hopefully opinionated brides as they attend, judge and score each other‟s weddings based on the wedding dress, ceremony, menu and reception. The winning couple take home a five-star fantasy honeymoon to a tropical paradise.
Host Fifi believes weddings are the ultimate expression of personal taste and says the upcoming season demonstrates just how individual and varied those tastes can be.
“We‟ve got some fantastic weddings. One bride arrives at her ceremony on horseback wearing cowboy boots and a tiara. Another couple choose to celebrate their big day over a beef stroganoff with friends at the local pub, and then there‟s the wedding with the guest list of 560 people!
“And just like last season our wonderful bride judges are passionate and fearless. If they don‟t like something, they won‟t be shy in letting you know about it. I can‟t wait!”
The wedding themes in the second season are as diverse as the brides‟ gown choices: a 50‟s Rock n‟ Roll wedding with an Elvis impersonator serving as the celebrant, a Mission Impossible inspired ceremony with the groom arriving by helicopter and a wedding in a bat-cave with the bride dressed in black to compliment the bats.
And in what could be an Australian first, movie buffs Tanya and Jason pay homage to Peter Jackson‟s Lord of the Rings surprising their guests with a ring bearing Gollum.
Oh yes it is both tacky and hilarious and definitely recommended viewing.
Four Weddings will premiere in August on Seven.

Well actually Bridezillas. Channel 7 are on the hunt for brides to be cast in the very entertaining and successful show Four Weddings.
The show has four brides each episodes where they all go to each other wedding and score it. The highest score wins a swish honeymoon.
Hopefully Channel 7 are looking to get Chez from The Block as she would be gold. But if you want to apply go to the website here.
Four Weddings which was hosted by Fifi Box, was a surprise hit for Seven, with the double bonus for them that it is so cheap to make.

Four Weddings – No Real Scrags This Week
I thought Kerry with her all pink obsession was going to be a complete nutjob, however I quite liked her. Tonight there was no real snarky bride but they were critical but that could just be the editing.
Just a few comments on the weddings to night:
- Alice’s $8000 wedding was a mystery, as where did all the money go. It was not spent on booze, dress or food?
- Stephanie’s did actually look like fun, so I was glad she won, however I thought she was clasping at straws when she was criticising Yvette’s food for the chicken being to big. Also Stephanie what happened to you cake?
- Yvette’s $6000 second hand Vera Wang dress looked lovely, and she get points for best line of the show by calling Kerry’s dress a mullet. The pink dress was a bit like dress ups, but she liked it. I did like Kerry’s grooms entrance.
I would have been happy with any of them winning, well except Alice, as she did a cardinal sin of having no booze at the reception.

Four Weddings – Yet Again The Nice Girl Lost
Four Weddings has been a surprise for me, it is entertaining and addictive TV. The only downside is the bitchy or undeserving bride always seems to win. But as @MolksTVTalk pointed out the nice ones score higher, and the bitchy ones lower so it skews the score.
Marlana’s wedding was first and it was a beach wedding, which Heather was not impressed about as she hates sand. The bride arrived by sea plane, which they missed seeing it land.
I thought as she got out of the plane I thought there was going to be a nipple slip through her $4000 dress. The others thought her food was not great because there was no seafood, and the belly dancing was boring.
Diana who was the scrag of the night had a wedding which was described as do it yourself (DIY). What was the age difference between her and her husband, however their kids were so cute. Personally I would have been worried one of the toddler was going to fall into the pool whilst the ceremony was occurring. The other brides thought the reception room was too overdone.
Heather an older bride was wearing a replica of her mother’s wedding dress and her groom brought his other woman which was his crane. Yes I did think both had attachments to strange things.
Heather got the thumbs up for the reception decorations and food.
Diane who seems to be the arbiter of good taste and class was drinking a Bacardi breezer. She was moaning about everthing, including not having a steak knife for a steak that looked pretty tender. Lucy gave her a back hander to camera by saying “I would have liked a steak knife at her wedding.”
Lucy who was the lovely bride tonight, had a bush elegance theme. However the others thought it looked more Italian.
Diana thought Lucy’s dress looked cheap. Diana obviously had not realised that her dress had made her look 10 years older.
The entree was bread, but the main course was huge. Clearly camembert chicken and beef fillet are the dishes to have at wedding receptions as it was at Lucy’s and Heather’s.
Unfortunately Lucy did not win, it turned out to be a tie between Marlena and Diana. The other girls had to decide and Marlena was sent on the honeymoon.

Four Weddings – Channel Seven Picked A Winner With This Series
What I cannot understand is how much weddings cost. A cheap wedding is deemed to be $20,000, call me unromantic but I would prefer to go on an overseas holiday.
Also what I cannot understand is why you would want to have a camera crew at your wedding. But lucky for Channel Seven there are brides willing to allow it as the Australian version of Four Weddings is compulsive viewing. The casting and editing is fantastic. Reg Grundy you are wrong reality TV does produce quality TV.
Kathryn who was having an arranged wedding had some negativity issues thought the pagan wedding ” did not sound like a wedding to me at all… like a carnival.” I thought this was ironic considering she was having a Bollywood theme wedding.
Kayla the part time model and fulltime bogan is spending $50000 with $6000 spent on a meringue wedding dress. Personally I think she should have asked for her money back, and it also confirmed that Jordan was her idol.
Her wedding was the full enchilada including doves, fireworks, and a dress change. She did however turn up in a car and not a carriage.
I loved Nicole’s wedding vows. She had the pagan ceremony, the vows were heartfelt and original, and I seriously want her cape. Every guest had to bring a crystal and push it into the ground which I presume gave her good karma. Kayla whinged about it but I don’t know why she was grateful that she had a use for one of the many that were on wedding dress.
The other girls were less then impressed with all aspects of Nicole’s wedding, including that some of the guys wore make up. In the world of weddings fire dancing was thought to be weird, but highly choreographed bridal and groom dancers are not. However Nicole’s cause was not helped by the buffet servers breaking about five health and hygiene laws.
Jessica’s ceremony was lovely up on Hamilton Island. Also liked the relaxed vibe including what the grooms were wearing which were shorts, and thongs. The food seemed to be nice, and for dessert she had a lolly buffet which I thought was original. The criticism from the other three brides was the reception was bit flat.
Kathryn’s wedding was a dry one, which I think was going to make it difficult for her to win the prize, particularly with her long entertainment program including drummer.
Kayla ended up winning the luxury honey moon in Fiji. In the two episodes I have seen of this show (I missed last weeks) the person who spent the most money won which I don’t find particularly satisfying, but maybe that won’t occur next week.
Four Weddings has cleverly moved the show from the Wednesday night time slot so it does not have to go head to head against The Block 2010 and Glee. It is up against the more blokey Top Gear so it will be a battle of the sexes when it comes to the remote on Tuesday nights now.
