Kris Humphries has fired off the first salvo in his divorce to reality TV star Kim Kardashian, by requesting the divorce be televised.

He said he wants people to know the truth about their marriage and how it only occurred for TV ratings.

And really what can she say everything else about her life has been televised. However I suspect this is his strategy to get the extremely wealthy Kim Kardashian to increase his divorce payout on the condition it is not televised.

So you watched the wedding now watch the break up. Kim and Kourtney Take New York season two  was filmed just after the wedding of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries so hopefully we will see the tension on air. Obviously they will be editing Kris to look as bad as possible.

It is the first time ever I am looking forward to a Kardashian episode.

However if this clip below is anything to go by you can see why she is divorcing him.

In shock horror news the Kardashian’s are getting the finger pointed at them for using sweatshop labour. The Daily Telegraph says that some of their products come from factories that pay their workers as little as $1.00 an hour. Also it says the workers are as young as 16… not sure what is scandalous about that aspect of the story, considering there are 16 year olds working in factories in Australia and the US.

For once I am not going to put the boot into the Kardashians not because I am supportive of the conditions in Chinese factories, but why should they get singled out there are plenty of companies getting products made in China under dubious conditions and we are buying them.

Ok I could not buy the Kardashian nail polish to take a stance, but then I will be blogging on my Apple Mac, and making calls on my iphone, a company who also has come under fire on this issue. Unfortunately a lot of westerners are addicted to the inexpensive goods we buy on the back of the cheap labour in China and other emerging economies.

However for the record I don’t have to feel guilty on this specific issue as I am a Kardashian product free household….

The organisation behind the story is Charles Kernaghan, the executive director of the Institute for Global Labour and Human Rights, and obviously they know by pointing the finger at the Kardashian’s they will get publicity to raise the issue of conditions in China.

He says:

“The Kardashians are in bed with some pretty bad people,” Mr Kernaghan alleged.

“Not only are celebrities like the Kardashians taking advantage of these workers, they are holding hands with a government that spits on democracy and women’s rights.”

While many Kardashian products were found to have no links to sweatshop labour whatsoever, the ones of concern are produced in the Guangdong region of China.

In Guangdong, workers often toil in factories that are not air-conditioned, even as temperatures swell over 38C.

Workers live in squalid dormitories and, after they pay for room and board, often pocket as little as $15 a month.

Some workers clocked as many as 84 hours a week under conditions that the investigators described as akin to “minimum security prisons”.

While products endorsed by Carmen Electra and former Spice Girl Melanie Brown are also under fire by his organisation, Mr Kernaghan believes Kim Kardashian could do the most to put an end to these practices.

“Kim has been very fortunate, but it’s time for her and her family to treat these workers with respect,” he said.

“If she took a stand and said, ‘I want to manufacture my products in Chicago or Los Angeles, where I can ensure people humane conditions,’ she would be taking the right stand.”

Should people boycott the Kardashian products or should we be more responsible consumers overall?

I am seriously over the Kim Kardashian story about her wedding and now separation.

However I did have to laugh when I read this quote in the Huffington Post from the President of E! channel which is the network her show screens on.

“I don’t even know if Kim has had a chance to emotionally process this the way that she needs to,” said Suzanne Kolb, president of E! Entertainment. “I don’t have any indication that this is going to change her career path.”

Not sure why she would change career paths, or what in fact she is qualified to do.

Lara Bingle has some similarities to Kim Kardashian. She dates sportsmen, she has her own merchandise line with her sunglasses, and she has no proper career except being a celebrity. It is no surprise Lara is trying to get a reality show going.

However the big thing Lara and the Kardashians have in common is the column inches they generate over nothing.

The latest is the news Lara has put on five kilos. I mean really is this a story? The Sunday Telegraph placed this article quite up front on their newspaper.

Who cares? Surely there must be other celebrity news around.

I have been trying to keep the blog a bit of a Kardashian free zone this week, because everywhere you go in cyber space on media and celebrity sites they are there.

However because of the pap and media frenzy they have decided to ditch Australia and head home.

News.com.au is saying Kim and her sister Khloe will be flying out of Sydney on Friday. This will mean Kim will not be attending the races in Melbourne. She was allegedly getting paid $150,000 for one hours work.

If I was Swisse I would not be too concerned, they will get to keep their money, but will have reaped all of the publicity of Kim hightailing it back to LA.

It will be interesting to see if this makes the front page of the Daily Telegraph as her arrival did.

The gossip magazines have been hinting at it for weeks. Kim Kardasahian has applied to divorce her second husband Kris Williams after only marrying 72 days ago.

The Huffington Post says Kardashian filed the papers citing irreconcilable differences. Kris Williams has said he is “devastated”.

The issue is meant to be around where they were to live. He wanted to live in Montana, and she in LA. However he did lose over a $1 million recently when he was embezzled by a wedding guest of the pair who pretended to have a billion dollar hedge fund.

As some quick wit said on Twitter, now they are getting divorce E! will have to stop playing the wedding daily.

Oh well at least it will give the Kardashian’s another story line.

If you thought Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding was the wedding of the year well you were wrong.

Kim Kardashian put on a spectacular all paid for and she made money out of as in millions. We get to see it in all its glory on E! on Foxtel over two nights starting Tuesday 11 October at 8.30pm.

Apparently Kim’s sisters don’t particularly like him. You can check out more about that at Gawker. Not that may have to put up with him for long if rumours are correct and their marriage may already be at splitsville with a blogger Heckler Spray saying rumours maybe separating, however People are reporting they plan on having kids within a year.
