Jennifer Hawkins certainly knows how to make an impact on the red carpet with a figure hugging and sheer Roberto Cavalli gown. However she would have also been very happy that her show Australia’s Next Top Model won Most Outstanding Reality Program.
Word is that filming has now been delayed and won’t start filming until the end of this year making it 2015 before it is on our TV screens again.
Andrew Winter from Selling Houses Australia won the Favourite Personality Male for the seventh or so time with his work colleague Shaynna Blaze also taking out the favourite female category. The ever lovely Shaynna was in tears about her second win in this category.
In theory she now might be able to win a Logie and a Astra in the one year. Selling Houses also won Favourite Program – Australian.
Matt Moran’s Paddock To Plate won Most Outstanding Lifestyle Program and a season two is in production as is River Cottage Australia. However star of the show Paul West revealed it was unlikely the Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall will be on this series as he has taken a year off.
Jennifer Hawkins and Didier Cohen paid tribute to Charlotte Dawson complete with a touching photo and video montage. Sarah Murdoch presented her sisters, Vicky Dawson and Robin Barclay, with a posthumous ASTRA award “To honour an exceptional contribution to the Subscription Television Industry”.
Didier Cohen when he was on the red carpet mentioned they were delaying the start of filming out of respect and they will start filming towards the end of the year. In fact it is unlikely to be on our screens until 2015. Didier is officially not single as he walked the red carpet with his stunning girlfriend Jess.
The most in demand ladies were the Real Housewives of Melbourne with everyone wanting to find out if they were not talking to each other. There is going to be a seconnd season as it is the most successful dramality show that Australia has ever produced. Filming on it is yet to start.
Nicole Trunfio a mentor from The Face Australia looked model ready in a Dolce and Gabbana frock again like Jennifer it was sheer.
Darren McMullen and his girlfriend Crystal Reed made a late red carpet arrival not leaving a lot of time for questions however he did reveal that he thinks The Voice Kids is going to be a big hit and that Joel Madden has the best team.
However I had my biggest fan girl moment when Kristian Alfonso aka Hope from Day Of Our Lives walked down the red carpet. She looked amazing especially since I wagged school for about a week to see her and Beau get married for the first time. No folks in those days not everyone had a video recorder.

You have to love the innovative promo for the sixth season of Selling Houses Australia.
It starts tonight (Wednesdsay 6 February) on the Lifestyle Channel. The show is about revamping houses that people are having difficulty selling. Andrew Winter, Shaynna Blaze and Charlie Albone go in and give their advice and also razzle up the property to try and sell it.
It is always an interesting and entertaining show to watch if you have pay TV, sometimes there is those “what were they thinking when they bought the house” moments.
The comedian Akmal is on episode six as they brought a house well actually a shack in the Byron Shire in a town called Huonbrook. However the alternate lifestyle was not for them, and now they have to sell it but the one bedroom house they were living in was not an approved dwelling, and that is where selling houses comes in.
Tonight’s episode set in Frankston where the house that is on the market is opposite a cemetery. The other issues are no working kitchen nor bathroom. This one could take a miracle.

Extreme appears to be the new buzz word in reality TV, there is Extreme Makeovers, and Bridalplasty where the prize is extreme plastic surgury, and now we have Selling Houses Australia Extreme.
Regular readers will know I rarely cover observational reality TV (due to time constraints) , but since Lifestyle kindly sent me a preview, I decided to check it out.
Now how does Selling Houses become extreme? Well this time they are selling houses which are train wrecks. They have aspects about them that make them very off putting for the buyer. In this week’s episode there is a massive electricity pylon right in the front yard of the house in North Rocks, Sydney.
But there are other issues with the house. It was built in the early 80’s, complete with corner spa, and purple loo, and the colours of walls and floors can only be described as cack.
Andrew Winter, who appears to be the thinking woman’s tottie, again hosts the show and moves it along nicely. He tells it to the vendors straight and suggests changes to the property.
He is joined by Charlie Albone again is the landscape designer, and Shaynna Blaze-Vaughan who gives advice on the interiors.
The show is extremely watchable particularly if you like out there houses and transformations, and of course there is a happy ending.
Selling Houses Australia Extreme is on Lifestyle on Wednesday nights, starting tonight at 8.30pm.
Andrew Winter will be chatting on the Lifestyle Channel after the show at 9.30pm tonight.
