The Block was the big winner at the TV WEEK Logie nominations getting two nominations in the Most Popular Reality Program for both All Stars and Sky High. My Kitchen Rules, Big Brother, and Bondi Rescue have also been nominated in that category. In a stark omission Masterchef Australia missed out on a nomination which is a blow before the new series is about to start.
Scott Cam also was nominated for Most Popular Personality on TV the Gold Logie, and the Most Popular Presenter. Domestic Blitz: The Block To The Rescue was nominated in the Most Popular Lifestyle Program category.
Not that I am a huge fan of Scott Cam but it is great that a reality host/star made it into the Gold Logie category as they are the most popular shows on our TV screens. He is up against Australia’s sweetheart Asher Keddie, Andy Lee, Carrie Bickmore, Stephen Peacocke and Essie Davis.
In other nominations related to reality TV Timomatic and Johnny Ruffo have been nominated for Most Popular New Talent. This year there is no Joel Madden or overseas superstar in the mix.
The Voice and The X Factor are nominated in the Most Popular Light Entertainment category going up against Hamish and Andy’s Gap Year Asia, Ja’mie: Private School Girl, and The Project.
The Voice Australia is also nominated in the Most Outstanding Light Entertainment category, which is a peer voted award. It will be up against comedies like Housos.
Selling Houses Australia received a nomination for the Most Popular Lifestyle Program alongside Embarrassing Bodies Down Under, Domestic Blitz: The Block To The Rescue, Better Homes And Gardens and The Living Room.
Scott Cam will be going up against Hamish, Andy Lee, Carrie Bickmore and Adam Hills in the Most Popular Presenter Category.
The TV WEEK Logie Awards are held on Sunday, April 27 and will air on Nine.

Carly was talking to Kyle and Jackie O this morning talking about the negative backlash they have received since revealing they were in a relationship to the Australian public last week.
She told the popular breakfast show that it is Christian groups that appear to be the main instigators the hate.
As reported in the Daily Mail:
Opening up that they are being targeted online she said: ‘It’s just the online hate thing, obviously we try not to even get involved in that, but it’s kind of hard when you’ve got Christian lobby groups and places like that…
Carly said ‘It’s hard because we are Christians and our Church actually accepts us for who we are.’
Silly me I thought Christianity was all about tolerance but it appears those groups hate a lot of things.
Interestingly in the interview they also admitted they did not like the L-word and it appears maybe the decision to out themselves was not entirely their decision.
Talking about what prompted them to reveal their relationship status the school teacher was tongue-tied: ‘We basically, we just decided… we weren’t ever going to come out about it but I can’t say anymore about that… Never mind, never mind it’s okay.’
When you sign up for a high rating reality show there is no way your private life will be kept private and it is slightly naive to think it might be. Also as I wrote last week maybe if they had been upfront from the beginning this online bollocks would not be occurring as it would have been one line in their bio rather then a story of the day.

The Big Adventure appears to be an Amazing Race style reality show except under more extreme conditions and in the one location. Jason Dundas will host the show.
Here was the official blurb:
Channel Seven today announced television presenter and model, Jason Dundas, will host THE BIG ADVENTURE – a new reality-adventure series which sees contestants compete in extreme conditions to win the prize of a lifetime.
Mr Dundas is currently based in New York where for the last three years he has co-hosted Vh1’s Big Morning Buzz Live weekdays around America, live from Times Square. He is also Menswear Ambassador for Australian retail giant David Jones.
Mr Dundas said: “The second I heard about the concept for The Big Adventure I was hooked! This show taps into the heart of what I believe makes us all Australian, our passion for adventure. After hosting 400 episodes of morning tv in New York, I’m really excited for my next big adventure; to return home and front one of Australia’s most exciting new tv shows. And to change someone’s life forever!”
THE BIG ADVENTURE is an original Seven Productions concept, from the makers of Seven’s hit reality-competition series, My Kitchen Rules and House Rules.
The series will go into production later this year.
The Sunday Telegraph had more information:
The Big Adventure, will see contestants compete in extreme conditions to win the prize of a lifetime.
Keeping the finer details of the production under wraps, the energetic 32-year-old teased us by saying the original concept had him hooked within “two minutes” of it being pitched to him by the network in December.
“It’s positioned all on a remote island in the South Pacific,” Dundas said … but it’s notSurvivor. “There’s unique challenges that have never happened before on TV” … but it’s notThe Amazing Race.
“There’s a group of people who are taken out of their everyday lives and put in a scenario where there’s a hidden secret on the island which these people battle out for,” he added … but it’s not Big Brother or The Mole.
And finally, “this particular secret will change their life forever or allow them to live out a dream,” Dundas hinted.
I am intrigued so will definitely checking it out.
The Big Adventure on SEVEN later this year.
