Well tears have turned to glee in Chez and Brenton’s house as they have sold their The Block apartment for $90,000 above their reserve. It sold for $970,000 and their reserve was $880,000. They must be happy with that.

So the wedding is back on I expect. Read about that tale of woe here.

Hopefully for them there is no evil clause is the contract which means if you don’t sell at auction your forfeit your prize. As they certainly deserve it considering Chez was one of the more memorable characters of the show.

Congratulations.

I still think Kyle would, but Lara will just keep him dangling whilst he is buying the drinks, but rumours of them being on is not going to be stopped by this photo, Lara just tweeted.

Or maybe he is just giving her advice on her rumoured Dancing With Stars role, his ex did make the final.

Congratulations to Altiyan Childs, winner of The X Factor, for debuting his single “Somewhere In The Night” at number 8 on the Aria charts.

But he is still creating controversy in his many media interviews.

In an interview with TV WEEK he said he was shunned by some of the other contestants.

The article said:

You’ve claimed you were shunned by some of the other contestants from day one – does that make your victory even sweeter?

I have to be honest: yes. To deal with the politics from the others was hard. I won’t name names, but I didn’t get any apologies, and I didn’t even get congratulated by some of the contestants when I won!

What was their issue?

I don’t know…. I think there was some sort of intimidation. I can definitely say there was poetic justice [with the result].

Who knows which of the other contestants didn’t like him. A big Altiyan fan on twitter thinks Kharizma, India-Rose, and Mitchell Smith did not look too thrilled at the finale.

The the SMH The Guide section is correct Chez and Brenton’s apartment from The Block is still not sold, and let us hope when it does they get some money from the sale.

Because if the TV WEEK is correct the engaged couple are in a bit of trouble financially.

The article said:

Having to ‘pass in” at the auction after being the only couple not to hit their reserve was especially devastating for Chez and Brenton, 27, given that they’re financially in the red.

“We’re about $25,000 in debt, so we’re in a bit of trouble,” Chez 28, tells TV WEEK. “I quit my job for the show, so we’re on struggle street.

“I understand this is real estate and that’s the way the cookie crumbles, but we thought that after doing all this hard work we might be able to have a bit of a break. But we’re Aussie battlers – we’ll continue on.”

Chez adds that they “might have to” put their March wedding on hold until they  have more money but hopes that isn’t the case.

“Some things don’t go the way you want them to, but everything happens for a reason. We’ve had a great time, so it’s all good,” she reasons.

If Chez wants to get married she should go on Four weddings for a fee, or sell her wedding to one of the gossip mags like Erin and Jake did.

Erin and Jake are in this week’s Woman’s Day. In a previous interview they said they were having a small wedding and that is why the other teams from The Block were not invited. However in the article they said they had 130 guests. Is that small these days?

Anyway for The Block fans you will be pleased to know the producers are looking for another block in either Sydney or Melbourne for next year’s series.

Rumours are flying that Lara Bingle will be appearing on Dancing With The Stars next year. I am not surprised you knew it would not be long before she would again be sucked into the vortex of reality TV.

She has previously appeared on Dancing On Ice.

Anyway maybe she would prefer to be on It Takes Two (the channel 7 singing show) if this YouTube clip is anything to go by. Or maybe she is still excited by her time spent in the company of Jason Darulo.

Other rumours for Dancing With The Stars are Terri Irwin and Kate Ritchie.

However if they don’t sign up Brynne Edelsten or Charmaine Palavi I am not watching it.

This could be go into the to much information file, however Altiyan Childs, spoke to Jo Casamento of the Sun Herald and found out probably more then she wanted to about his lack of sex life.

The article said:

…The singer, who has been celibate for years after his heart was broken by a former girlfriend, swears to S he is way beyond succumbing to humanly desires. He does have a slight fear, however, that submitting to a woman might change him and his powerhouse performances.

“I think I would have been tempted by things that would have corrupted me if I’d made it when I was younger,” Childs says.

“But now I have a very deep connection to what people call the energy, the force, the mystery of the earth – I call it God – my job is to break the laws of nature and become supernatural. That’s my goal and because of that, I don’t think I’m corruptible; I really believe that.”

Childs who says performing like a monkey for the X Factor spin off show was “torturous” reveals that after he had given up on his first attempt at a music career, he shut down the musical side of his life, destroying his guitar and any evidence of it.

“I mediated a lot, I practised celibacy, I don’t….” an at this point he went into even more detail about his highly publicised non-existent sex life.

“Let’s just say he doesn’t even love himself. “After my broken heart, I decided to experiment with abstinence and what happened was spectacular.

“It was about the 22nd day – it was really difficult – but after that it got easier and after about 40 to 50 days my body didn’t know what to do with all this sperm….it entered my bloodstream.

“It’s been incredible.”

I wonder if he has always talked like this? Janine saying she is Altiyan’s ex has been on the blog. If she is I would love to know does he always talk like this? Because sometimes I feel I need an interpreter.

Case in point is this interview Altiyan gave to Sydney Confidential.

Also I wonder what Natalie Garonzi thinks about him saying he didn’t like being on The Xtra Factor. If he wants to be an international superstar he has going to have to do a lot worse then that show to promote himself and his songs.

Natalie Gauci winner of Australian Idol season six might have the last laugh.

She has constantly been described as the winner who went nowhere, and I don’t think Sony even released her album of her original songs.

Anyway not she is looking smoking hot, due to her new job as a personal trainer but she also has a new single out.

The Herald Sun reports:

The Elsternwick resident said she had waited three years to shed her Idol skin and release her first single, Dreamers, with new electro-pop band Tune In Tokyo.

“I am definitely back and doing things my way,” Gauci said.

After winning Idol in 2007, Gauci said she felt pushed and prodded by record label Sony after releasing the “obligatory” Idol album, Winner’s Journey.

So, she decided to pack her bags and do things on her own.

“Idol was like an arranged marriage. There were good days and bad days,” she said. “I didn’t get angry, just bossy, and I just followed my instincts.

“It has been three years exactly and I fought really hard to be totally free creatively and musically.”

After celebrating her 29th birthday yesterday with husband and singer Hamish Cowan, the laid-back songstress said next year was hers.

“I have so many things on the go,” Gauci said.

“I am working on my album with collaborator Paul Brandoli for Tune In Tokyo, a solo jazz pop album and I appear and sing in a new film, Big Mamma’s Boy, with Holly Valance, which comes out next year.”

Dreamers will be released on radio on Monday.

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when this audition on their version of So You Think You Can Dance was shown on their screens. Not sure how mothers would be explaining this to the under 12′s.

Personally like Santa I don’t believe it is real, however it certainly got the judges excited. This guy manages to do spins lying face forward down on the floor without using his hands. And how does he do this? Well you will have to watch to decide whether it is real or a magical illusion. By the look on the judges faces they were hoping it was real.

Still no news on when Adam Liaw winner of Season 2 of Masterchef Australia will be opening a restaurant. However he is currently learning the ropes in a real kitchen at the Flower Drum in Melbourne.

The Daily Telegraph writes he is spending a week there, and then he will spend some time in Tetsuya’s kitchen.

Hopefully this will give him his restaurant legs and we will see a rocking eating establishment open with him behind the pans in 2011.
