The Emmys On Now – The Amazing Race Wins

Well Padma Lakshmi has walked the red carpet and she looks fantastic as soon as I can find an image I will put it up for a bit of Monday morning eye candy, and hopefully will be able to find a pic of Phil Keoghan in a tux.

However Phil Keoghan will be happy with the news The Amazing Race, won the Outstanding Competitive Reality TV show. However Tom Bergeron the host of Dancing With The Stars who won the best reality host this year.

Here is Heidi Klum with some va va voom splits in her dress.

Also Giuliana and Bill star and host of the Emmy’s red carpet came back from maternity leave to do the red carpet interviews. She still looks like she could do with a good burger.

Also here is Cat Deeley the host of So You Think You Can Dance she is nominated for an Emmy.

American Idol judge Keith Urban walked the red carpet with his wife Nicole Kidman who was nominated for an award.

There a two big reality categories announced today they are:

  • Outstanding Reality Competition ProgramThe Amazing RaceDancing with the StarsProject RunwaySo You Think You Can Dance, and Top Chef, and The Voice.
  • Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition ProgramDancing with the Stars’ Tom Bergeron, So You Think You Can Dance’s Cat Deeley, The Amazing Race’s Phil Keoghan, American Idol’s Ryan Seacrest, and Off Their Rocker’s Betty White.

Last week the most Outstanding Reality TV Series was announced at the Creative Arts Emmy’s, a pre-award show that ensures the Emmy show does not go on far too long.

The show starts on E! at 11.00am, the red carpet is on now. However for the show will be shown on Eleven tonight at 8.00pm.

You might note that Jeff Probst has not been nominated for host nor was Survivor for outstanding reality show. I suspected Jeff wasn’t nominated because he has won the award since inception. However Survivor has never won nor has been nominated since 2006 which really is just wrong.

Will update blog post with photos and results as they come in.

Jeff Probst not nominated?????
There’s their credibility out the window as far as I’m concerned!!

The American version of The Amazing Race was my favourite reality show between seasons 1-14. It lost its magic after that, but I might continue watching it again because I remember how great a show it was.

I thought Lena Dunham looked amazing, even though I don’t really like her that much nor do I like the show Girls for that matter, but she looked amazing and very classy in her dress.

Nice too have seen the old lady from Desperate Housewives nominated – it was really sad to know that she died. :(

Homeland is a good show, but over Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones??? I hope Game of Thrones season 3 wins next year because the third book – A Storm of Swords is certainly the best book in the series.

Ari – I loved The Girls and I thought Lena Dunham looks amazing too. What I love about her is her realness and she does not have the usual Hollywood starlet vibe.

I have never watched Homeland nor Breaking Bad and the bits of Game of Thrones I have seen have all be soft porn though that dwarf has some sex appeal.

I was a bit miffed the reality awards were not announced by reality TV alumni.

Mahlia – I think the rest of the hosts were grateful as he has won it each year. I was hoping Cat Deeley for the win.
