ASTRA Awards And The Red Carpet Gossip

The ASTRA, the awards for the pay TV industry was a lot of fun last night with gorgeous stars, my favourite show Dance Mom’s walking the red carpet (that is a separate post) and lots of people having a chat.

This is one of my favourite photos I took off the night the Selling Houses team of Shaynna Blaze, Charlie Alibone and Andrew Winter.

Now Shaynna Blaze and Andrew Winter have won ASTRAS before but this year Charlie Alibone was nominated for the first time. This year the awards were industry decided and not by the viewer which meant the one of the highest rating shows on Pay TV did not get the awards they usually get. I was hoping Charlie would win best presenter but unfortunately this was not the  case he lost out to Paul Murray.

Andrew Winter said filming for the latest season has been completed.

Shaynna answered the question that The Block fans have been wondering –  why the judges have been mentoring the Blockhead teams about their design style. Shaynna said it was because three novice teams were going against a returning team, and that it was only fair that these team got to hear what we had to say and got to learn from us.

The Real Housewives were popular on the red carpet and Pettifleur revealing to me she was commando as she hates VPL, visible panty line. All of them looked stunning on the red carpet. The Houswives were nominated for Outstanding Reality Program but they were beaten by the AFL reality show The Recruit.

Real Housewives

Chyka said that Bruce her husband would be on the show in a few episodes but not as much as last season.  She is not a fan of Twitter but loves instagram. Chykka denied she threw the grenade on the table in relation to the rumours about Gamble’s past. She said she started a conversation that she thought was going to go one way but went another.

Gamble, who is driving the plot lines on Real Housewives this season, said she had not realised she would be getting so much screen time. Her wedding is going to be in September but she still has not got her engagement ring yet.

But Pettifleur was not the only one that might have been going commando with Kerri-Anne Kennerley flashing her red hot pins as well.

Osher Gunsberg was walking the red carpet as they were celebrating 20 years of pay TV, and he was a host on V Channel. He said he will also be hosting The Bachelorette and the current series of The Bachelor is being filmed. He won’t ever be on the Bachelor as he now has a new girlfriend and he advises that Tindr (which he dabbled with) is not the place to meet girls. Maybe Shane Warne might want to take some advice.

Jennifer Hawkins looked amazing.

Guiliana Rancic who hosted the show still looks like she could put on 3-5 kilos to cover the protruding bones on her body, however she was charming and gracious to all the media.

But two of the hottest people to walk the red carpet were Australia’s Next Top Model stars Didier Cohen and Cheyenne Tozzi.

Fans of the show will be pleased that it will be back on our screens on 30 April on Fox 8.
