Celebrity Apprentice – Should The Bland Go Before The Bitchy?

Well rule number one in reality TV is boring will go before bitchy, and that is certainly what happened tonight.

After the girls team were thoroughly beaten by the guys it was time to face the board room.

Deni Hines continued to delude herself, but this did mean she came out with some cracker statements.

“I know that I am but I don’t see myself as that [a celebrity].”

“Celebrity is so easy these days for 5 minutes and you can become a celebrity. I think there is lot more to celebrity then that”.

Unfortunately Mark Bouris pandered to her ego and said “you were practically born one, look at who your mother is”. Really? For fuck sake it is not like she is Suri Cruise.

However he did point out that Polly had raised $100 whereas she had raised nothing.

Deni said she was sweeping, and greeting. “People see me out the front they recognise my face they come in” she said. Considering there were only 120 people who went through the  doors that was not a ringing endorsement.

Brad Seymour one of Bouris’s sidekicks said  she was putting herself before the charity. Clearly he thought the protecting the brand was bollocks as well.

Lisa Curry concurred with that “She didn’t want to be there, and she was not a team player”. I interpreted this as her saying she was a complete scrag.

However one person who did have to take some responsibility for the dreadful loss was project manager Pauline Hanson. Pauline who is entertaining reality TV is not coming across as being real bright. She certainly is not showing any managerial skills or any innovation.

Jesinta Campbell who is feeling a bit ignored said she had suggested cordoning of a part of the restaurant for corporate clients. However Pauline said she thought they would have no time to sit with them. However in hindsight she said she may have done it differently.

Polly who was under fire for not upselling at the till,  thought the people out the front should have explained why we were there, which they disagreed with.

Polly also said out of all her thousands of Facebook fans a few had come down to support her. However she was then criticised that because she has so many “fans” on her Facebook page and she had not leveraged them more.

Seriously how many people on the Facebook pages that you like would you hand over cash for?

It was no surprise that both Deni and Polly were the two that Pauline selected to come back into the board room with her.

Pauline managed to save herself with a plea of “If I run for politics again I want people to say she lasted in Celebrity Apprentice”.

Polly was then told she was fired. So Deni gets to live another day.  You have to wonder who has the tougher skin out of Deni and Max Markson. Max when he was watching the girls boardroom scene thought his team had not been as mean as the girls. He had completely forgotten that he had been their boardroom whipping boy.

Do you agree that Deni Hines who may continue to create friction should be safe? Should the bland go before the bitchy?

I wouldn’t call Polly bland. She certainly gave good rat-face.

Polly shouldn’t haven’t been fired simply because she did more work then Deni! Polly did everything she could, where all Deni did was hug people.

Would like to say I won’t be watching it again, but I will hoping that Deni and Max are the next two to go, but again can’t see that happening.

I would not have let Deni hug me – no thanks! But I’m sure they are keeping her there for the drama. Bitchy is more entertaining than Miss Goody Two Shoes!

I thought the whole idea of this show was to aim to be the winner and work for Mr B with YBR – why did Deni sign up (financial background??) as far as an apprentice goes I would have put money on Polly as a likely employee – same question begs Max – as if he’d work for or under anyone?

RR : cracked up at Suri Cruise comment – exactly! Both Hines are Has-Beens

Yes, unfortunately the producers are putting “drama” ahead of who really isn’t pulling their weight and should be gone. Not sure I can keep watching if they are going to keep that 2 faced bitch Deni on- surely she has to go next time the girls lose??? then Pauline please. PLEASE!!! :)

If she put her personal feelings first once before what makes Mark Bouris think she won’t do it again?

I don’t get it, Warwick Capper raised $20 and got fired, Deni raises nothing and did nothing and gets to stay? Sure Polly could have done more, but they all could have. Say what you want about her but at least Polly stepped up and made a jingle when Deni had a tantrum about it and sure she only raised $100 but it was $100 more than Deni. I am interested to know how much the other girls pulled in?

What a joke, how would Deni feel if someone half arsed it during her challenge project manager?

Deni has been on KAK this morning along with quite a few other apprentices. Deni was congratulated on “20 years in the business” Say what?

Deni’s going to perform “live” shortly! This should diminish the brand nicely.

Polly’s compering flower arrangement demos.

Brandy – ouch.

Kaz – To be honest I want to see Deni a couple of more episodes to see continue to irritate her team members.

Calliegirl – Agree.

Daze – no they don’t get jobs with Mark Bouris, they just raise money for their chosen charity.

Deni (I AM da big cheez honey) Hines = ratings
Polly (midget ego among giants) Porter = expendable

Sue – I think they are wanting to make us really cheer when she is flicked.

Melly – I want to know how they calculate who pulled what money. I put money in the tip jar and I certainly didn’t say this is because of that person.

BDD – Tell me what she is like singing. Interesting how she has released her latest single to dove tail with her appearance, not sure ANYONE will be buying it now. I am surprised she still has a record label.

11 Georgie { 10.28.11 at 11:04 am }

RR – she has her own record label, that guarantees she won’t get dropped.

RR, Deni did her new single “Finger On The Trigger”. I don’t think the band was playing live and she was probably singing to a backing tape imo.

Such a seasoned pro she’s not sure which camera she’s “:singing”‘ to.

Thankfully Capper and Mark Markson joined in dancing with her on the forgettably bland R&B ,like bad Stevie Wonder number. The song really grows on you-like a fungus.

I hope it’s been immortalized on You Tube

RR, I wasn’t saying Polly looks like a rat. but Deni is upfront bitchy, and PP pulls haughty entitled bitch faces that do make her look astonishingly like a rat. The background pic at the start of the promo for the ACA story on the ‘cat fight’ showed a good example. I think she was equally bitchy as DH, though only with her facial expressions. Hopefully there’ll be a few good ones tonight on the recap. She has her nice face on in interviews though. The other face I love is when she sticks her lower jaw out in stubborn fury. excellent reality tv viewing.

Brandy, I am familiar with the term rat-face, also known as a moue, and in my family as squinchy-face.
Apparently if the wind changes it will stay that way.

I think Demi should have gone. She thinks that reality are not “celebrities” yet she is on a reality show? I think Demi is a nasty piece inflated by her one-hit 20 odd years ago. Since then, no-one has even heard to her.

16 Andrea { 10.28.11 at 5:50 pm }

definitely deni should have gone as she contributed nothing. At least Polly tried hard and entered into the spirit of the jingle. I was disappointed and hope she goes next, I wont be buying her new single thats for sure!

Tks RR ; did I mention I was a distant rel of Warrick lol. Thought the guy that won last time still works for Mr.B YBR so thought Max and Duni were gunning for a spot – gotta dash and retouch my roots – ps hope your cat’s ok poor thing (must have watched Celebrity App last night?)

18 redkar { 10.28.11 at 6:55 pm }

Deni who??? Who is this trumped up bitch? Never heard of her LOL

19 ruby { 10.28.11 at 7:54 pm }

No body sweeps a floor like Pauline. Was this talent used when she was in the Big House??

20 seepi { 10.28.11 at 9:49 pm }

I think Polly was treated badly by this show. I mean they asked her to be on it – and then let the whole ‘is Polly really worthy of being here’ be a theme of the show. I’m guessing the whole thing wasn’t much fun for her.

She does have some classic facial expressions. I think she would look a bit softer with some hair on her face like a fringe. the pulled back look is a bit severe. I assumed she had it like that on the Block for renovations, but it must be the private schoolgirl neat and tidy look she is going for.

Brain Dead Dave – your quote:

“Deni has been on KAK this morning along with quite a few other apprentices. Deni was congratulated on “20 years in the business” Say what?”

I agree. They seem to be wanting to close ranks for an “Old Boys Club” with their comments. I found their comments distasteful referring to a celebrity being defined as “longevity”, as they have. Everyone has to start somewhere – what happened to encouraging other people? Obviously not for these jealous types who wouldn’t be around unless – wait for it, THEY WERE IN A REALITY SHOW! (Same as Polly!). Pffffffffffff double standards!

Deni is so spoilt and false, I personally feel, if not for her mother, she wouldn’t be “a celebrity”. Her new single, that I just listened to is monotonous, written to a boring forumla, and so old fashioned!

I am sorry, I just don’t have time for people who bully, and it is about time that people stand up and say, “no, this isn’t acceptable in schools, nor the workplace, nor the television”.

22 Neil { 10.29.11 at 7:59 am }

I think there was a legitimate business case for getting rid of Polly before Demi. Polly had the greatest leverage to make money but failed to use it. What the betting that Demi is project manager for next task and she will be crucified.

Interesting to see Pauline perspective on running a business. Very small scale – keep the place neat and tidy. Not strategising about how to improve and grow the business. I wonder if that how she would had operated if she held the balance of power in parliament?

23 sue { 10.29.11 at 8:11 am }

Neil,

Using your logic, Jesinta should also have been up for dismissal, as she too failed to “upsell”. Dani had just as much capacity to ask for donations, whilst she was forcing herself onto customers with hugs and “yo honey’s”. She saw all the customers before they even entered the store- yet her contribution to sales was “0”- surely that is a greater fail than Polly’s?????

I agree re Pauline- very small minded thinking, and I actually believe she is incapable of thinking on her feet and making quick decisions based on new circumstances/current situations. Her feeble voice drives me nuts!!!!!

BUT- please Dani out next, or I may have to stop watching. And yes- she was a bully!!

24 Block Fan { 10.29.11 at 6:53 pm }

Deni, Pauline and Lisa are all bullies. I think for Deni’s own sake she should be next to go – as she is doing her “brand” LOL a major dis-service showing her true colours so publicly. If she had any fans to start with she ain’t going to have them after this! This might have been a chance for her to redeem her poor reputation but she just digs the hole deeper and deeper….like watching a slow motion train wreck…you know its wrong but hard to take your eyes off it!
