Masterchef Australia Season 1 – Where Are They Now?

The Daily Telegraph has done an article on where the top 20 are from last season. They say 15 out of the 20 are working in some capacity around food.

Interestingly enough Andre Ursini from South Australia will be opening his own restaurant tomorrow, so good luck. Also Trevor Forster’s restaurant in Perth Capricci is going really well.

The article also says Brent Parker-Jones is a successful food photographer, something he was prior to going on the show. Also Lucas Parson’s cafe continues to operate in Randwick. Again a business he had prior to his Masterchef experience.

I knew Julia Jenkins, and Josh were on Delish, but apparently law student Kate Rodrigues is also making some TV appearances. Also Justine Schofield has a high end catering business.

Why no mention in this DT fluff-piece of Chris Bad-enuff?
Has he been – unfairly in my opinion – expunged from the official history of MasterChef? Compared to this year’s lot of whimpering sooks, he was at least interesting. Both in terms of his commentary to camera as well as his off-air shennagins in terms of shagging fellow contestants.

I am from South Africa and I was very disappointed in who won the masterchief “Julie” come on… I think that this was not a cooking competion but a personality competion. She only won because she creaped into the judges harts “Yes Gary I saw the piece where you said “Julie you changed me” come on this is a cooking competion and I feel that Poy deserved it more and Chris they where never scared to take a chance to cook something different. I saw how Julie cooked and she was a messy cook and shaked more that what she cooked. And the crying in front of the judges every time .. come on…

I am also from South Africa and loved the show, wish they could do one here “Masterchef SA” mmmm. Julie so deserved to win 100%, she might not have been as adventurous as “Poh” not “Poy” or Chris, but she grew tremendously from the beginning of being a home cook to being accomplished in so many cooking techniques. She might have got into the hearts of the judges etc but so did Poh, they worshipped her way of cooking but Julie was better on the day to, her sorbet was better etc etc and she got the taste test right etc etc…. SO JULIE WELL DONE!! you were AWESOME!! (Footnote: Poh was a lot messier than Julie 90% of the time)
